Black CAP staff and Harm Reduction team took part in this year’s 3rd National Day of Action Against Overdose, dubbed We Still Grieve, at Queen’s Park. This consisted of a funeral demonstration at the Provincial Legislator, followed by a funeral procession down University Ave. We walked alongside over 200 other service providers, community members and those others that are still grieving alike, and protested the Government’s inaction during the overdose epidemic that has taken over 10,000 people nationally. We humbly thank all those that stood in solidarity and showed courage in representing their losses today, for those that go unheard in the often underrepresented substance using community.

" Report an overdose or bad reaction to drugs. If you or someone you know had a bad reaction to street drugs, or an overdose, you can make an anonymous report about it at ReportBadDrugsTO.ca. A summary of the info you provide will go out to community members. You can make one report at a time to tell people about: ... 1. An overdose caused by opioids like fentanyl, heroin 2. An unexpected or bad reaction to drugs" ReportBadDrugsTO.ca

"Today is International Overdose Awareness Day, a time to remember, and a time to Act! International Overdose Awareness Day spreads the message that the tragedy of overdose death is preventable." Collectively we aim to raise awareness of overdose and reduce the stigma of a drug-related death. We also acknowledge the grief felt by families and friends remembering those who have died or had a permanent injury as a result of drug overdose."... If you would like to support please contact your local Harm Reduction services, Community Health Center or post a photo with the hashtag #InternationalOverdoseAwarenessDay (https://www.overdoseday.com/)
