Behind the scenes with my Yoga for Mom and Baby group, filming for CBC News: Marketplace yesterday at Yoga Tree Studios in Richmond Hill. The moms were amazing, and the babies were troopers for the three hour long shoot. Not at liberty to say what the segment is about, but tune in on March 1 to find out!

It was through Life with a Baby that my Yoga for Mom and Baby class was created. So thrilled to be able to continue building a community for mothers to come together for support. Yesterday CBC Marketplace came to visit my Yoga for Mom and Baby class at Yoga Tree Studios. They filmed some of the class and spoke to the moms about infant nutrition and food for a segment they'll be airing in February/March next year.

I'm excited to be part of Mommy Connections Richmond Hill and their Fall Mom & Baby program on Tuesdays. Each class provides a valuable learning opportunity as well as a fun way for mothers to bond with their babies and other new mamas in a social environment while getting to know local neighbourhood and community offerings. Each week features a discussion and activities lead by a local partnering expert. There are door prizes, a free swag bag valued at over $200 full of samples and discounts from local businesses, as well as a complimentary photo shoot of moms and their baby. Another car seat clinic that I will be volunteering at This Sunday September 17, 2-5pm at the Allstate offices (Highway 7/ 404). This is part of a tech training course, so there will be trainees accompanied by volunteer certified techs. All seats will be verified and you'll leave having learnt how to properly install your own seats in your vehicles.

New Postnatal Yoga class starts this Friday! This is an gentle flow yoga class for new mothers to recover and restore after birth and up to the first four to six months postpartum. This class is also appropriate for mothers of older babies who have been diagnosed with diastasis recti or those with pelvic floor dysfunction eg prolapse, incontinence (leaking when sneezing, coughing or jumping), low back pain.... It is the ideal first class for new mothers to begin physical activity after birth. Restorative and gentle poses will help mom recover and reconnect to the core and address changes in the pelvic floor, slowly rebuilding strength and flexibility as well as soothing muscles from nursing and caring for baby. As you may be aware, I am a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) aka "car seat tech". I will be volunteering at this free Car Seat Clinic at Clek head office (North York) on September 21. All seat makes and models will be checked.
