Madd Canada Grande Prairie bringing awareness to Impaired Driving by setting up a crashed car near Highway 43 and Range Road 51 by Richie Bros Auction.
It is with great sadness to announce that one of our long term employees has passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Cathy Basterash was hard working, devoted and very loyal. She was like a second mom to everybody at Harold’s Towing. She was loved by all and will be missed greatly. Rest In Peace Cathy. We will miss you.
Thank you to Durai Schell, owner of Social Haak marketing for this image. Please like and share this post to get the word out https://m.facebook.com/SocialHAAK/
Some fine Grande Prairie folks are arranging a donation drive for Fort McMurray. Times are tough right now but even tougher for our friends up north with the recent flooding. Join their group for more information and head to the Cineplex tomorrow morning for donation drop offs. https://www.facebook.com/groups/258767088825619/
In this uncertain time we all need to take some extra precaution to protect ourselves and those around us. Running a customer service business is a particular challenge. How do we continue to provide service to our customers but still keep them and our staff safe? While this will certainly impact our business we know this is the right choice for our employees, customers and community.... Effective immediately Harold's Towing & Recovery will be implementing the following: Our dispatchers will ask if you have been out of the country recently, been sick or been in contact with someone that has been sick or has COVID-19. All customers will need to arrange a ride. Our staff will not currently be taking passengers in our trucks. We ask that you place your keys on the hood/bumper/trunk and not hand them directly to our staff. For services where the customer is present such as a boost or vehicle unlock, we ask that a safe distance of 6 feet is kept between customers and staff. We will ask that you perform all functions inside the vehicle such as releasing your hood or starting the vehicle. When taking payment with debit or credit, we will enter the necessary information into our machines and place it on your vehicle for you to complete your transaction. We will clean and disinfect the machine for each new customer. To our customers, neighbors, friends, family and our whole city, we look forward to when this is all just a memory and we thank you for understanding. We will continue to operate fully and to the best of our abilities and are here to help when you need us.
If you're wondering why Public Health keeps saying the window is closing to stop the spread, here's why. The numbers tell us the reality. In Italy, on Feb 20, t...hey had 4 confirmed cases. By March 15, less than a month, they had 24747 cases. Each day they had an average 27% increase. In USA, on March 2, they had 100 cases. By March 15, in less than 2 weeks, they had 3680 cases. They are at a 32% daily increase. In the UK, on March 5, they had 116 cases. By March 15, in 10 days, they had 1391 cases. They have a 29% daily increase. In Iran, on Feb 25, they had 95 cases. By March 15, in less than a month, they had 13938 cases. Iran is at a 32% daily increase The average daily increase over 4 countries is 30%. Canada and Alberta is following this trend. Two days ago Alberta had 29 cases, then the next day 39 cases, then the next day 56 cases. The average trend is a daily increase of over 34%. Currently in Canada we have 341 cases. In 2 weeks at the end of March we are estimated to have 22700 cases in Canada. In Alberta we have 56 cases. We are estimated by end of March to have 3732 cases in Alberta. If 10% of these cases require ICU, that is 373 ICU beds needed. The province only has 300 ICU beds across the entire province capable of intubation. That means in just 2 weeks our entire health care system could be overwhelmed and we will be faced with questions of who lives and who dies. The government is not overreacting when they put bans and restrictions in place. This is why the window to stop the spread is very narrow and why strict restrictions and closures are necessary. This is why we have to follow the regulations of government as our civic duty. We need a healthy amount of fear and understanding at this time, not panic, and not complacency, but the right kind of fear that leads to timely action.
