One of the hardest parts of photography for me is choosing the best edit. You can do so much to a photo to change the look, the mood, and the color. But when is it perfect? When is the photo right? Is it when it looks exactly like reality? When it conforms to your style? It’s difficult to decide. For this photo I went back and forth for days between several edits. What helped me choose is a quote I heard a while ago. I can’t remember who said it, but this is how it goes. I don’t necessarily shoot it how it looks, I shoot it how it feels. So while this may not be the most true to life iteration of the photo, it was the most true to my life and my experience. It looks how this moment felt.

I love Fall. It's my favorite season and definitely my favorite to photograph in. I'm looking forward to doing some location shoots. Send me a message if you're interested!

This photo perfectly represents both sides of photography to me: photographer and subject. On one side you have the photographer with the beautiful golden hour sun we’re always chasing. On the other side, the subject, bathed in that light with a styled scene. It’s interesting to see not just what is captured, but the moment and environment it was captured in.

Headshots are always awesome to shoot. It's the subtleties in light that really make a headshot great. Looking for just the right light dynamics to compliment the subject is so rewarding when you find that sweet spot. Loved working with Tolu Makinde, thanks for coming by bro.
