Quick little blaster for my buddy. If you see this and know who it’s for, keep it quiet! To get your stuff laser tattoo’d, let us know! #harrisonsolutions #laserenrgaving #lasersofinstagram #lasertattoo
Perfect backyard fire weather (in our opinion) is finally here. Mother Nature’s mural in the background goes well with social isolation mandates. #harrisonsolutions #lockdownlife #fireweather #socialdistanceeverything
Kicking off a good weekend by making progress on our latest showroom renovation for @pelhammedicalaesthetics_ Still more to do, but a dent has been made. Leather walls? Check. Steel Divider Wall? Check. Next is reception and the coolest workstation you’ve seen! #pelhammedicalaesthetics #harrisonsolutions #smallbusiness #movinonup
While we have lots of huge finishes coming up, we always like to keep the machines working, and engraving is a nice way to keep the busy. #harrisonsolutions #lakeerie #laserengraving #robotsofinstagram
An advantage of having specialized technology in the shop is the ability to provide solutions to our customers that would otherwise stop their productivity. The copper part shown here needed a new gasket, but since everything is custom made, there is no 1-800 number to call for parts. Our laser cutter was up for the challenge! #harrisonsolutions #localbusiness #lasercutting #robotsofinstagram #copperstills
Shout out to Smith Industrial Supply for always having EXACTLY what we need. When we come to them needing an obscure or random part or tool, they seem to always have it in stock, or can get it the next day. Gotta love that! A locally owned family business that deserves a pat on the back for offering services that the big box chains simply cannot. Cheers. #SmallAndLocal #niagararegion #downtownportcolborne #harrisonsolutions
While we did not make this specific sign, it’s certainly relevant to not only what we make, but it’s also half of our name. We couldn’t NOT take a picture of it. Thanks for pausing while scrolling through the feed. Happy Holidays!
Another customer-inspired fireplace comes to life. The customer came to me with an idea and a picture (Pinterest strikes again). The inspiration picture is included in this post (one with the deer head mounted). The two most important things to me are this: that it’s built to last, and that the customer is happy. I know it’s built to last, and this customer is extremely happy with the way it turned out. ... Thanks for looking, and if you like supporting local businesses, then hit that share button. #covidvibes #harrisonsolutions #cncmachining #SmallAndLocal #niagararegion #fireplacesolution
Custom 3D panels created in-house using our cnc routers. These panels are used in a variety of interior applications, mainly feature walls and reception areas. Patterns can be customized, and can be painted any colour. Special installation is required.
Laser-etched Acrylic address sign. Mounted on glass black aluminum posts to match the existing porch railing. The advantage of using acrylic instead of glass is that acrylic is much more resistant to breaking/shattering than glass, and the engraving process is much easier on acrylic than it is on glass. The acrylic used also has a 30 year anti-yellowing warranty. The customer was very happy with the finished product, and this is the second custom sign they have purchased.... You won’t see these type of signs at any store, and you can’t buy this stuff off a shelf. #custommade #smallbusiness #dimensionalsigns #acrylicsigns #repeatcustomersrock #getyourstoday #harrisonsolutions #niagararegion
Mr. & Mrs. Claus stopped by the cafe and took some pictures with the gingerbread people!
Laundry Room almost done. Some artwork and signage, and it’s done.
A look behind the mask. This is how my signs, fixtures, and pieces are made. Not my video, but the concept applies. Once my machines arrive, I will be able to post the videos of them doing the work. Cheers.
Whitewashed rough pine shelves with hidden wine glass holder. Wrought iron brackets. Perfect fixture for that wall. Simple and clean. This is the customers picture sent to me, and Im sorta jealous of their space....
They made it! These larger-than-life gingerbread people are the perfect decoration for the The Pie Guys Bakery & Cafe in Downtown Port Colborne. They provide a great opportunity to take some holiday photos with the kids and family, and pick up some goodies while you’re there!... Looking back at a more recent project. Located in downtown Toronto, Ontario. I don’t miss the traffic, but I do miss the food. #toronto #dimensionalsigns #smallbusiness #fcpdermatology #firstcanadaplace
Forgot about this thing. This was an experiment to see if how the machine would cut the shapes. There’s a few ways to cut when dealing with a v-bit, 3D engraving, and a lot of shapes that have to be filled in or cut around. How do you think it turned out? Shares and Likes are fantastic, and tag someone who you think is a huge SOA fan!
Trying to emphasize what it is that I actually do is tricky, because the technology and methods involved go by some pretty unusual names. What exactly does CNC stand for, and why should anyone care? CNC machining is a manufacturing process in which pre-programmed computer software dictates the movement of factory tools and machinery. The process can be used to control a range of complex machinery, from grinders and lathes to mills and routers. With CNC machining, three-dimens...ional cutting tasks can be accomplished in a single set of prompts. Short for computer numerical control, the CNC process runs in contrast to and thereby supersedes the limitations of manual control, where live operators are needed to prompt and guide the commands of machining tools via levers, buttons and wheels. To the onlooker, a CNC system might resemble a regular set of computer components, but the software programs and consoles employed in CNC machining distinguish it from all other forms of computation. This explanation was posted by Astro Machine Works on their blog where they answered the same questions I encounter....what is this CNC stuff? Thanks for reading, and if you think that my services will help you in any way, please reach out to me. Cheers.
Here are the newest additions to the shop family. They arent here yet, but have been ordered and I am patiently waiting. Out with the old, in with the new. Lets talk about robots. First two photos are of a CNC Router, which is a machine that cuts what I tell it to cut, how I tell it to cut. It can cut wood, mdf, acrylic, pvc, plastics, countertops, etc. A standard shop machine has a cutting area of 4 feet wide by 8 feet long. I bought one that does 6.5 feet wide by 10 feet... long, and a clearance height of 12! Because why not? Actually its because I am working towards being the regions go-to for manufacturing and machining all things produced on this type of machine. Second two photos are of a CNC Laser. Same concept as the first machine, but this one uses a high-powered laser to cut stuff. Cool, right? Under the hood of this beast is a 180watt water-cooled laser, which means that it can cut through some fairly thick material, such as wood, mdf, acrylic, plastics, and some thin metals. It can also lightly engrave the surface of most anything I put in it. It will have a cutting area of 5 feet by 3 feet. As I said above, my main mission here is to be the one-stop-shop for businesses and the public to come to and get stuff made that just simply cant be made anywhere else. These machines are used in every custom kitchen made today, and build the parts that go into cars, and make the signs that you see on every store, and a million other things we use robots for every day. Shares and likes are always greatly appreciated, and for this type of post, tag a friend in the comments who you think would benefit from knowing about this type of service. Cheers.
Leaf Fans, get in here! Now thats a cutting board! Did this up for some newlyweds, who apparently love their team. The best part of this concept is that if you want one of these things, you can pick your own team to support. You can bring me a cutting board of your choice, or I can supply one for you. Thanks for looking, and as always, shares and likes are my favourite. Cheers

Massive Live Edge Oak Serving Tray This is a photo of the product at the customers house ready for the feast. Coming in at over 4 long and 24 wide and 2 thick, this thing fills up the table. But thats perfect when you need a portable serving station for lots of food for lots of people. ... Since this piece was made, Ive used most of my in-stock slabs like this, but I have lots of species of wood that can be used to create the same concept. These can be personalized as well, with custom quotes or names engraved into the surface. Thanks for looking, and as always, shares and likes are greatly appreciated. Cheers.
I know that everyone and their brother is doing these now, but here is mine. I have about 15 slices just like this waiting for a home, so if you like the double-knot look, Ive got your piece. As shown in the pictures, the price is $85/each. Treated with Butcher Block oil, which is FDA approved and safe for food. OR if you want them personalized (with a name, quote, etc), price varies on the size of the engraving. Shares and Likes are always appreciated, and thanks for looking! Cheers

Faux Beams and lights installed for the vaulted ceiling. Faux beam and trim installed in Rec Room. I am now booking the end of September, and if you have any projects around the house that you think might need a special touch, quotes are free. And I can do more than trim and woodwork. Anything is possible, and there is a solution for everything.
What a way to start the weekend! I just finished up the installation of this satin black fireplace unit. The sleek black really makes the trim and panels stand out. The customer found the inspiration online, and asked if I could replicate it. After exchanging a few emails with 3D renderings, we ironed it all out, and the result speak for itself. Complete unit features two built in receptacles, one on the side of the unit and one in the entertainment box to accommodate the TV... and accessories, as well as a removable face panel that fits around the electric fireplace. The face panel is removable so that it can be tiled over in the future, since that was the original concept, but also allows for it to be replaced if the tiles need to come off in the future. The electric fireplace unit itself was supplied by the customer, and I built to fit. The crown molding was custom built-by-hand as well. Thanks for looking, and I always appreciate the shares and likes. Contact me directly for free quotes and availability. Cheers.

Another Maple Leaf address plaque for a new customer. This is a really good way to show off your Canadian Pride! These are $100, and can be painted any colour. #canada #shoplocal #canadian #canadianproud #greatwhitenorth #buyit
Our Mayor, Bill Steele, showcasing the different areas of our City of Port Colborne, and the clock sign/tower we made. What a great way to promote #shoplocal.
Just installed this new yard sign for Stacey Clutterbuck Photography. This was a fun job because the client (Stacey) knew EXACTLY what she wanted, sent me lots ...of ideas, and we hashed it out until we got every detail right, from the font, placement, stain tone, everything. Sure, you can go to the big stores and buy something off the shelf, or order a kit on Amazon, get it home, and plop it in place. But when you need the custom stuff, the stuff you have in your head that doesnt exist yet, and no store could ever sell you, thats where I come in. Thanks for looking, and your likes and shares and tags are always appreciated. Cheers
A repeat customer needed a housewarming gift, and they provided examples of what they had in mind. Happy to report that they loved it more than the hoped for. Someones front porch is going to be trending in the next week or so. This sign was made from a salvaged board taken from a barn teardown, and features raised lettering and laser-engraved text at the bottom. Thanks for looking, and keep in mind that everything I do is custom, so if you have ideas, I have solutions. Cheers.
Feeling the love....
Time to shine some light on this thing....the customer took a picture of the new sign during the day. Whatcha think?
Not a bad way to spend my Tuesday night. Could have been inside, and warm, and cozy, and maybe even sleeping.....but I was able to do this instead. #lovemyjob
You know when you have an idea, you figure it all out, you design it, build it, and then just dont quite feel it once its all said and done?....Well I had that two years with this project because of the material I used, but it was a huge hit and everyone just had to have their Maple Leaf Address signs. Now, because of better machines, better software, and the best material money can buy, these signs are back in the game (with a few improvements). Here are some pictures o...f two new ones that are headed to Florida as Christmas gifts for some Canadian Snowbirds that migrate south for the winter. Im always able to make more, so if you like this idea, comment below or send me a message to get started. Im turning the machines back on in 2020! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! #canadiana #mapleleaf #housenumber #notinstores #customsigns #bluecollar #canadaproud #2020 #isaychristmas
Well, the wifes Christmas gift list was a bit longer this year than previous years, and this is a collection of the ones that we can share at this time without ruining any surprises. Lots of hours spent on these, between designing, cutting on the table saw, playing with the laser cutter, etc. Merry Christmas to everyone. #handmade #notstorebought #customsigns #tistheseason #isaychristmas #buylocal #christmassigns
Here at Harrison Solutions, I enjoy the craft of what I do, whether its the large complex fixtures with tricky lighting and mounting units that stand 10 tall, or the small house numbers that you simply cant find at the store or online. Tonights project took me to the cnc router for some 3D carving, and this is a sneak peak of a few pieces that have been huge hits on the past, and since Christmas is coming, the gift orders are bringing these babies back. Stay tuned for finished shots once these are done! Thanks for looking.
Revisiting previous accomplishments. Taking time to reflect. My largest project so far, and no job is ever as easy as the outside world perceived it to be. Excluding the lights, every piece of this sign is made from Coastal Enterprises Company HDU foam sheeting and finished in authentic GM Camaro paint. I have used the foam on several other projects, and it hasnt let me down. #coastalenterprisescompany #hdu #camaro #dimensionalsigns #solved
Another day at the circus, I mean shop.
Now heres a project! I dont have the before pictures, most likely on another phone. But this was a bare bones basement, with old foundation walls not even used anymore in the structure of the house. After those were removed, lots of planning and layout began. You can still see the original exposed beam going across the ceiling. We preserved that for a good reason, and it shows in these pictures. Thanks for looking and if you like what you see, give it a like, or even better, give it a share. Cheers.
Living Room Transformation. This was a great project, not only because it was fun, but because it gave me the chance to recreate a picture from the internet and bring the idea to life, with the customer calling the shots every step of the way. When I start a project, I focus on making the customer understand that its a team effort, and they can actually pick and choose what they want. I do not allow the currently available stocked items at big brand stores dictate what it available for the project. Custom is truly custom. As the customer, you can pick and choose every detail. They had the idea, and we made it a reality. How do you think we did? Please help spread the word and give it a like, or even better, give it a share! #custom #livingroom #liveedge #minimal #teamwork #contemporary #local #supportlocal
Heres a couple of shots from a fun little project I was asked to work on. Different layers make these characters pop out. Hopefully this is a fun thing for little Lukas to look at for years to come.
Custom cutting board for a client. I received the OK to post this so I hope I dont ruin any surprises. I made the Laser engraved design, and the customer supplied the board. I love doing these little projects....keeps the wheels spinning. Thanks for looking! ... #lasers #cuttingboard #hockeystuff #hitched
Great shot of the clock sign, Withstanding the extreme elements. Cheers to Amanda Eggleton (cant tag her properly) for the shot, and Lumichron Tower Clocks for the clock itself.

Recent gift to the in-laws (Debbie Wakunick) for the Florida home. The steel palm tree sign was one of this years gifts. The maple leaf below it is from a few years back. One for those warm, sunny days and another for those cold winter nights.
Another happy customer will be enjoying this beauty live edge sign very shortly. And baby, it is cold outside!

Self-driven, variable speed, articulating ejection shoot, very good condition. Electric start, gas, low hours, perfect for big driveways or parking lots. No longer need it, so first with cash in hand gets it. No holding.
Another high-quality look that we offer, and have a ton of fun doing. These type of signs are solid wood that is sandblasted to reveal the grain of the wood, and create that weathered look, and leaving behind raised lettering. Thanks for looking. #shareifyoulike
