Good afternoon! We are pleased to offer a daily, online Advent devotional on Facebook for those who are connected with Harriston United Church and Grace United Church in Hanover. Our group will begin Sunday November 29th on the first Sunday of Advent but feel free to join now and introduce yourself. We look forward to this journey together.
Rev Jessica, along with her husband Rev. Micol (minister of Grace United in Hanover) worked all afternoon on a Facebook Advent Devotional group for the members of our two congregations. Look for more information to be posted tomorrow on how we will journey to Christmas!
Tomorrow night our Moderator, Richard Bott, will be offering a worship gathering "Advent's Lament: A Blue Christmas". The details to participate are in his post.
HARRISTON SANTA DRIVE BY ROUTE FOR TOMORROW 6PM Santa will be starting at the Harriston Fire Hall and heading up Mill Street to John Street N. From there, he... will be spending some time waving to the children on William and Union St, before returning to John St N to make his way out towards Tim Hortons, visiting Adelaide, Louise & Tuffy MacDougall on the way. Santa will be returning to town via Elora St N, and taking a left onto Arthur St to visit Lawrence Ave, Queen & King St, the Arena and George St, before heading over to Marklane and Maitland St. After a tour down Thomas St, Santa will head to the other side of Town and visit Wilson St, Brock & Robertson St before seeing the children on John St S, Lorne St W, and the remainder of Margaret St S. He will then take Elizabeth St to Webb and Pellister St before jumping onto Raglan St taking him to the final area of Town. He will tour down King St S, Queen St S & Young St, before zig zagging down Lorne, Anne, and Jessie St, ending on Elora St, which will return him to the Fire Hall. Should you choose to come in from out of town, parking is available on Mill Street in the municipal and library parking lots, or in the parking lot of the Harriston Arena. Please remember to remain distanced from Santa, the firefighters and each other. Remain on your own property, and don’t congregate near the road. As we have never done anything like this before, we do not know how long it will take to get around town and cannot tell you a specific time Santa will be passing by your house. Please listen for the sirens and watch for the flashing lights to know when he is close.
Join us on Sunday November 22nd at 10:30am as we celebrate Reign of Christ Sunday. On this last Sunday of the Christian year, we will reflect on how we can be the hands and feet of Christ in the world.
