COVID Frontline Wellness is a new initiative that connects health care workers with supports and tools to help them deal with COVID-related stress and its impact on their mental wellbeing. Services include specialized self-help online resources; support for managing feelings of stress, anxiety, and depression; and help building coping skills to get and stay healthy. We will also provide connections to other services and resources as needed. Most services will be offered... by telephone or videoconference, and the entire process is completely confidential. Getting started is simple. Health care workers can book their initial appointment online at www.theroyal.ca/covid-frontline-wellness. Supports will be provided by The Royal and other community partners. They are available in English and French to any resident of Ontario who works in a hospital, long-term care facility, retirement or group home, paramedic service, primary care or community health care setting. The Royal is one of five hospitals in Ontario that are partnering with Ontario Health’s Mental Health and Addictions Centre of Excellence to bring these services to health care workers throughout the province. As health care providers we know that our patients are managing their chronic conditions on their own the vast majority of the time. Typically we are able to refer our patients to self-management classes or workshops delivered within our organization or elsewhere in the community. At this time, however, these classes have been cancelled to protect our most vulnerable and reduce the spread of COVID-19. This leaves many of our patients without the support they need to effective...ly manage their health during a particularly stressful and disconcerting time. The Online Self-Management Program is here to help. The Online Self-Management Program provides free self-management support for patients living in Ontario, and their family caregivers. Our patients can have access to support from their own home, at a day and time that fits their unique situation. The use of a secure, online platform allows patients to benefit from face-to-face support, delivered by trained peers, while maintaining physical distance. Weekly workshop series, one-to-one health coaching and informative webinars are currently available to support our patients now and into the future. https://www.selfmanagementontario.ca//ontariosselfmanageme
