Congratulations Esme! Esme new she was in the right home from the very beginning! Still her adoption took a little time due to some health issues that needed to be worked out. Although she's been in her furever home for a while, we can officially announce that Esme has been adopted and we couldn't be happier for her! Congratulations Fortune! Fortune (now Willow) has found her furever family and they are just over the moon to have her in their lives! Fortune had a bit of a rough journey getting ready for her new family. She came into hart’s care back in October of last year. She had previously been quilled and had an abscess that required some medical attention. It was also determined that she required TPLO surgery so she had that done as well. Her foster home did an amazing job worki...ng through post surgery recovery with her and she recovered well. She's now ready to live her best life with her new family. Pupdate!! Bear (previously Champ) still manages to use the bed he brought from his foster home for his daytime naps. It doesn't look particularly comfy to us, but it is adorable!! And he is getting so big!

Congratulations Presley! Presley had a little trouble settling in when he first came into care and had to be moved into a few different foster homes. Turns out the last one was the best one he could have ended up in since he's officially been adopted! He fit right in! They did lots of training to work on his fear and anxiety and he has come a ridiculously long way. His new momma is so proud of him. Everyone he meets thinks he is a total sweetheart and falls in love with him instantly. His big (little) brother Milo is also very excited to keep him in the family! Adoptable Dog Highlight! Cola is an amazing little guy who is clicker trained and highly motivated by food. He would love to find an active family to keep him busy and build a bond with him through continued training. He would love a home with a backyard (and a tall fence, he's a jumper!) where he can play fetch for hours! Congratulations Huck! Huck has moved into his furever home and we couldn't be happier for him! This poor guy had a pretty rough start to life. He and his siblings were brought in from the cold after one of them sadly passed away. We're so happy that we were able to help this sweet guy find his family and start out his new life of love and warmth! Stay in touch sweet boy. You'll always be part of the hart family!

Adira Female Age: 1 yr Weight: 61 lbs... Adira is a sweet girl who is struggling with separation anxiety. While crate training is a work in progress, she is good in it for up to 5 minutes. She does pull on leash, so a front clip harness can help her out a lot. We have seen no leash reactivity with her at all, but she does stare at a dog who is walking by intently. She will snort and bark at a dog who barks or reacts to her first. The key is to keep her moving and distract her. She does submissive pee and mark territory; house training is a work in progress as she gives very subtle signs when she has to go. When she first came into care, Adira struggled with nipping when overexcited and boundaries. She has learned on/off, so she must be invited up on the couch, and told off to get off the furniture when she is getting too excited. She loves to cuddle! She was also being taught impulse control, and this has helped with these behaviors immensely. She has also leaned: Shake a paw, Spin, Sit, Down, and recall. She is not a flight risk when she is with people she trusts. But rabbits do get her attention and she will chase, as she does have prey drive. She's good with older children who can respect her space.

Kingston Mixed breed 6 yearsMale Weight (approx): 70 lbs... Energy: High Children: No Dogs: No Cats: No About Me: Coming Soon! Health Notes: Coming Soon! Behavior Notes: Kingston is a high energy dog who needs a person he can bond with. He is extremely leash reactive towards other dogs and while he has had doggy buddies in the past, it takes a lot to get him to that point. He can never live with another dog. Kingston sadly has a bite history, but we do know what causes him to bite, so we do have safety conditions put in place that we ask are followed no matter how good he is. He is muzzle trained for walks for safety reasons, as he will redirect on his handler, if training procedure is not followed. Kingston resource guards his food from other dogs and people, so just give him his food and leave him be. He also resource guards human food, so during meal times including when handling/preparing food he is crated no matter what, as this is another time when he bites. Because of this, we do not recommend children for him. He is currently working with a trainer to help him out. He is crate and house trained. The only time he does not resource guard food is when he's working for it. He loves to please, and is very smart, so a family who wants a challenge and can commit to his training would be a great fit for him. A yard for him to run around in would be great for this boy as sometimes walks are hard to do with him. He loves mental stimulation games and one of his favorites is scattered kibble in the grass. He loves using his nose and to give him that chance makes him the happiest pupper ever! He is a bit of jumper because he loves people so much and all of the attention in all of the land, but we are working on this and he's learning fast. He does settle though, once he gets over the excitement and he'll sit close by and soak up all the pets. He has his basic commands down (sit, down, stay) and he is currently working on recall. He knows how to do puppy push ups for food. Kingston is a lovely dog who just needs someone who understands and accepts him for him and willing to commit to him and keep up all the work so he can thrive.

Congratulations Zeppelin! This handsome man didn't have to go very far for his furever home, it turns out he was there all along! After fostering several other pups and helping them find their furever homes, Zeppelin's family knew as soon as they met him that they couldn't let him go. He's going to have the best life with his amazing new pawrents, and we're pretty sure he's going to keep helping new dogs who come into care.
