30 Things I’ve Learned So Far #13: Toilet cleaning never goes away! Maybe this one sounds pretty rudimentary but it’s those basic, hands-on, everyday tasks that keep you grounded and real. Even when/if you become successful and think you’ve managed to escape the basic duties of life, think again. It really is these mundane, ordinary but very necessary tasks that remind you of how important it is to celebrate your hard work and your successes. 30 Things I’ve Learned So Far #12: Never build without blueprints. I can’t stress this enough. Design without a strategy a set of blueprints if you will is a recipe for disaster. It’s so simple really yet many people ignore the strategy part. Without one how do you know which direction you need to go, what benchmarks you need to hit along the way, when you need to arrive, and how you will measure the success at the end of the journey? You wouldn’t ask someone to build a house for you without a set of plans in place so why would you embark on the design of a new brand or a communication piece of any sort without the same. And if your client doesn’t have a a strategy in place then it’s your job to help them get one. Design without one is just window dressing. Plain and simple. #graphicdesign #design #strategy
