May: later variety Tulips appear, with more colour along with fuschia Allium. We spend a good deal of this month planting out seedlings and dealing with early weeds

April: this is when our first Tulips appear, and it really gets me going while the greenhouse seedlings are still being nurtured. It’s challenging to find enough variety in the garden to pull together an arrangement at this time of year, but it forces me to look at other plants from a new angle and to experiment. I've recently purchased 2 new sets of lovely ceramic containers for table arrangements, and can't wait to use them

Happy New Year! For the next 12 days I will be posting a photo from 2018 which most represents each month on the farm. January, as always, is a month of deep rest after a busy season and the flurry of Christmas. There is finally time to do paperwork, order seeds, and last year we redid our website. The Lavender is now sleeping quietly under a lovely thick blanket of snow
