DOG OF THE DAY! Monty's humans got the last Cinnamon Buns this past Sunday. Monty was very happy for them. More Cinnamon Buns will be coming out of the oven on Saturday and Sunday morning. Get here early to get yours. You and your dog will be very happy you did.
DOG OF THE DAY! Oliver thought his breakfast was lip smacking good.
DOG OF THE DAY! Hikers all get hungry, especially those with 4 legs. Louie and his humans came by for a snack this morning after their hike. Louie recommends the bacon wrapped bacon.
The big day is here! We are open and serving breakfast, lunch and treats to the hungry people of Canmore. The first batch of cinnamon buns in almost 4 months will be coming out of our oven tomorrow morning. Harvest Cafe is newly renovated, but due to health guidelines, our seating inside and on the patio is limited. ... Hours are 8:00-4:30, 7 days a week. Hope to see you for wraps and snacks soon!
Harvest Cafe is going to look a little bit different when we reopen....
We have temporarily closed our doors, but will be re-open as soon as it is sensible to do so. Stay healthy friends.
We are still open, but with shortened hours, limited seating and rigorous cleaning protocols. Modified hours are 09:30-2:30. Stay healthy friends.
This Muttley Crew were the best behaved guests at our going away party for Caitlyn. The smoked pork leg may have had something to do with it. All the best in California, Caitlyn. You'll be missed by your fellow Harvest inmates. We'll do our best to take of your regulars like Cliff and Chilly Spice. That's AWESOME!... You're AWESOME. AWESOME!
We made them for sharing, but we won't tell if you're going to eat the whole thing yourself. Take away Carrot Cake with the obligatory cream cheese icing. Only $19.95. In my opinion, Carrot Cake is delicious, but its main function is as a delivery vehicle for cream cheese icing.
Today's muffin is Dark Chocolate, Almond and Coconut. Yummy! The feature soup is Chicken noodle, with housemade pasta. Good for what ails you. Come in and warm up at Harvest Cafe Canmore.
Chilly? Chilli! Beef Chilli (GF) is our feature today. Served with a cheese biscuit or a corn bread muffin (GF).
Winter has arrived a bit early, but so has our Harvest Beef and Vegetable Stew. Its our feature today, and will be available until we sell out. It's chilly out there, come in and warm up with a big bowl of stew and one of our savory scones.... Chilly? Did somebody say chilli? Hmmm, I wonder what our feature will be tomorrow....
These old cookbooks are some of the inspiration for our menu at Harvest Cafe Canmore. Carly is checking out some old school cookie recipes, and is interested in some of the soups. The NY Times cookbook is almost 60 years old and has a couple recipes that we definitely won't be adding to the menu. Tongue in Aspic, I'm looking at you.
Unfortunately, we will be closed on Thursday, August 30, reopening at 8:00 AM, Friday August 31. Our good friend, Mr. Snuffleupagus is in town.
The cool, wet weather this weekend got us thinking. First, hoping that our friends and family in BC are getting some relief from the fires. And second, about some fall and winter cooking. Anybody up some beef stew and a slab of cornbread? Still working on the recipes in our test kitchen at home, but this isn't a bad starting point. ... Stand by for chilli, stews and cornbread coming to our menu this fall.
We are excited to carry these beautiful hand carved kitchen utensils. Carved by hand, these utensils are not only easy on the eyes, but functional. They won't scratch non-stick cookware, but are sturdy enough to scrape up those delicious browned bits when your are deglazing you pan. Our house carpenter whittles most of these from local apple and birch. The charred looking ones are French Oak, from barrels that originally aged wine, and then were used to age bourbon. Carved ...to bring out the natural grain and beauty of the wood, each is then hand sanded and well oiled with food safe mineral oil. Each is unique, and a few a adorned with leather or locally sourced spruce root wraps on the handle. Priced between $22 and $30, they will make a great addition to your kitchen, but don't just use it as a decoration, the carpenter wants you to cook with them. PS, I've got one of the spatulas in my kitchen at home. It's the perfect thing for stirring that hearty chilli, stew or soup.
Carly has made up some delicious Chocolate Chip Zucchini bread, and its Gluten Free! All of our wraps can be made gluten free as well, come down and try a bite!
We’d like thank everyone for your amazing support over the past 7 years! We’ve had a wonderful ride and would like to wish the new local owner all the best for the future. Thank you and see you around town!
