Kiwassa is hiring 2 Community Navigators for a 75-hour contract between now and December, $33/hr, for someone in our neighbourhood who is a member of a group typically under-represented in city planning processes. This person ideally is well connected in the neighbourhood and can host dialogues with other community members to bring important and often unheard voices to the table to inform city planning processes. We had a great time in the Templeton Welcome Garden with Lori and Laura learning about our amazing indigenous plants and helping remove some pretty but invasive ones. A (physically distanced) work party is such a good way to connect in these sometimes too distant times.

This just in... power is back on and the boiler is running, which means that Out of School Care will be back in session starting Monday. Unfortunately the bottom level of the centre sustained a fair bit of water damage. All programs in Room 9 have been cancelled and the Fitness Centre will be closed for the month of October.

Repairs from the flood are ongoing and Hastings Community Centre will remain closed today and tomorrow, Thursday and Friday. All programs are cancelled including Out of School Care. Our apologies.

In Harmony in Nature will be at the Templeton Park Pool Native Species Garden this Sunday, September 27 from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm. How would you like to put your hands in a vibrant garden, home of numerous happy native plants, hummingbirds and many other birds, some medicinal plants, a beautiful hawthorn tree and many other beings. Join us in our intention of bringing attention to the importance of diversity. Together, we will tend the garden and ensure its future as a sanctu...ary for the community and for future generations.
