Hello RCFSI followers... it's elise here! It's with many mixed emotions that I let you all know that on January 18th, 2018 I'll be moving on from my position as... Food Security Coordinator at CNH. It's been a pleasure and a true honour to work with you all. I've learned a whole lot from working in this incredible neighborhood with dedicated, passionate volunteers, curious residents and wonderful organizational partners and colleagues. I'm heading on an exciting adventure to South America for 6 months, and I'll be taking the many lessons and memories from my time with the RCFSI and bringing them with me for the next chapter. The service providers who belong to the Hastings Sunrise Community Food Network are conducting 1 1/2 hour focus groups with 8 people each to better identify the barriers and challenges for our residents to access healthy food. Base...d on what we learn, the service providers will look at how best to address the gaps and needs. We need community to speak to the agenda items, to keep in mind your responses to our recent survey, and your excellent and relevant comments to the issue of what future activities, events, programs and green spaces you would like to have available in Hastings Park. The PNE Board needs to appreciate and act on what the community wants.
