I have been wearing a mask in stores (and limiting my trips) since March when this whole thing went down. I’m not sure how being considerate to others for the common good is now being mocked by some who are calling it living in fear, but it needs to stop!!!... When I wear a mask over my nose and mouth in public and in the stores/Supermarkets/Pharmacies - I want you to know the following: I'm educated enough to know that I could be asymptomatic and still give you the viru...s. No, I don't "live in fear" of the virus; I just want to be part of the solution, not the problem. I don't feel like the "government controls me". I feel like I'm an adult contributing to the security in our society and I want to teach others the same. If we could all live with the consideration of others in mind, the whole world would be a much better place. Wearing a mask doesn't make me weak, scared, stupid or even "controlled". It makes me caring and responsible. When you think about your appearance, discomfort, or other people's opinion of you, imagine a loved one - a child, father, mother, grandparent, aunt, uncle or even a stranger - placed on a ventilator, alone without you or any family member allowed at their bedside.....Ask yourself if you could have helped them a little by wearing a mask. It was 24 yrs ago that the decision was made to open our 200 sq ft basement in Richmond that we had converted into a Museum of Monsters ......the price of admission was a none perishable for the local food bank........ with the Christmas season approaching each yr, I felt that it was the most needed time of the yr as far as helping families, felt so good that we were doing our part and in our 8th yr we were so proud to receive an award from the City as a thank you for collec...ting more food from a single family food drive to date..............Tammy and I have just celebrated the 20th anniversary of opening the doors ......& 7 lucky yrs out here in Langley ......now 5000 sq ft and still each season part of the admission, is a suggested none perishable ...... the kindness and generosity of all who attend each yr is amazing and this yr was over to top !!! Tammy and I cant thank everyone enough for being the biggest part of our drive........ "The Gateway of Hope" will turn your donated food into hot meals for the homeless and Christmas hampers for special families............. The Brinkworth Dungeon team is just the venue....... but in my opinion a true heartfelt thank you goes to "all that attended" and brought food and " The Gateway of Hope" for their yrs of service of those in need.........
