Dear Students, In these unprecedented times with Covid-19, all precautions need to be addressed. Piano teaching is still continuing for this semester with several adjustments. There are two options. These options are to continue with in-person lessons, or to have online lessons. If continuing with in-person lessons, these requirements must be met: ... Staggering lesson times, so there is at least 15 min apart between students of different families. Many lesson times are available on Thursdays, and Fridays. There is extensive cleaning and disinfecting of the front and studio areas between every family, including the piano and chair being disinfected between everyone. All students are required to use the provided hand sanitizer before and after lessons, or wash hands properly in the washroom.Properly distancing myself from students by completely teaching on the digital piano, while the student only uses the grand piano. I do not touch the students books or materials, or they mine. Students are required to do their own markings in them with pencil. If a student shows any signs of cold/flu symptoms at all, please contact me as soon as possible and postpone the lesson for a later date. If continuing with lessons online (which at the moment is my preference) : You will need to set up a simple way of having a live video chat by your piano, or keyboard. A laptop, touchpad, or smart phone will work. My piano studio is already set up for good quality sound and video to interact with students. If your video chat set up is not hands free, the student may need some assistance to help display their hands playing on the piano keys.We will be using the ZOOM platform for all online lessons. It is free, and relatively simple to set up on your preferred device. I will be sending a separate email shortly to all students to invite them to a ZOOM online Piano Lesson. This will be for all students, even if person to person traditional lessons are being continued. This is so everyone is set up with the online system, and can enter it with ease at any time that it may be desired or needed. Extra time will be given for technical set up. If the online meeting time that I have randomly chosen does not work for you, please contact me for a different time. For either teaching option that is used, this spring semester is being extended to September 1st if needed. This is to accommodate everyone’s properly informed postponed lessons, so that all students have the ability to have all of their calendar scheduled lessons. The only difference is that students have until September to have those paid lessons made up to them. Thank you, Corrie Hausauer B. Mus, RMT Hausauer Piano Studio
