L O V E I’ve always done a Valentines breakfast for them. If they were in school, I’d cut heart shaped cheeses and sandwiches or make pink and red themed goodies + Those days feel so far away from where we are now. I guess thinking back, where I am now, this felt like another lifetime away then too. + Now there’s a lot of talk around the dinner table of my sons prep courses for post secondary, and conversations about jobs and upcoming drivers licences exams. Things are chan...ging and evolving as they do....and should.....and days like today I feel the abundant love....and the abundant ache + Love is strange. It’s not linear. It’s not a straight trajectory from feeling it to having it live inside the brand new box for its lifetime + Love is and ebb & flow of joy and ache, weaved with abundant happiness that overflows and the grief of shape shifting during seasons of change + Love is literally having your nerves exposed and your heart growing into its own entity, going off into the world, outside of it’s safe little box + It is for me anyways.
