Hawkestone And Area Community Association

Open letter to our Honorable Mayor, and council. I am writing today on behalf of many riders of ATV's/UTV's, that live on Line 10 or below (Line 9, 8, etc.). Currently, the use of off road vehicles are allowed on many Township of Oro-Medonte roads. However, as can be seen on the map of allowable off road vehicle use, there is no easy way for any resident's to travel between Line 10 and Line 11. The only legal way to travel from Line 10 to Hawkestone, a distance of approxim...ately 1.6Km, is to travel along Lakeshore Dr, to Line 9, cross over the bridge, travel to the 15/16 sideroad, proceed along this road to Line 14, pass over the bridge, travel through Carthew Bay, and then connect back to the section of Ridge Rd, that does allow atv/utv use, to proceed to Hawkestone. It is my, and many other avid users of atv/utv's request that an exemption to the current ban of vehicle use on the Rail Trail between Line 10-11 be brought forth. If not an allowance on the trail, perhaps an allowance of use of Ridge Rd between these two lines could be made. Fellow residents of Hawkestone and Area, I hope you will choose to band with me on this issue. Full disclosure, I have just only e-mailed a request letter addressed to Councillor Randy Greenlaw asking about this issue, today. Hawkestone and Area is a community, a community that should be connected together easier than what is currently allowed. Thank You Steve Milburn
