Obey me, and I will be your God and you will be my people. Be careful to obey everything I command you, that it may go well with you. Jeremiah 7:23 The Lord knows what is best, even if we can’t see it or even understand it at the time. We must trust in Him. ... God references here in Jeremiah what He had already told the people as they left Egypt. Yet those people did not listen. So God reminds them generations later that it is only when we are obedient to God that things go well for us...in the spiritual, not the physical; in the eternal, not the temporal. The people of God have since the very beginning of humanity turned to other sources than God, and it has never gone well for them in the long term. God cares for you, and He continues with this command today: Obey me, and I will be your God and you will be my people. Be careful to obey everything I command you, that it may go well with you.

We are taking Communion together tomorrow. We ask that you please bring with you something small to eat and drink. This is for personal use, or to be shared amongst your family. *Note: we will have prepackaged items available at the sign in table as you enter the church building, for those who attend without their own items. ... We will still all eat and drink together as we close our service, as led by Pastor Sam.

...make straight paths for The Lord. Every valley shall be filled in, and every mountain and hill made low. The crooked roads shall become straight, and the rough ways smooth. And all people will see God’s salvation Luke 3:4-6 This wasn’t just John The Baptist’s life mission. These were words he was declaring for all the people to hear. This is our mission now, as well. ... They were talking about preparing the way for Jesus’ coming as Saviour. We are now to prepare the way for Jesus’ coming as King! Heading into Christmas, let’s make it easier for people to come to faith, not harder. Let’s spread the message not only of Jesus’ first coming, but also His second. Salvation isn’t just for those of us who already believe. It’s for all people! This month, let’s prepare the way for The Lord.

Hey, look. Another verse from Acts 4! Pastor Sam isn’t kidding around when he says we reference this chapter a lot. The Lord is good, and His mercies endure forever. ... In a time when people are searching for answers in all kinds of places, we need only look to Jesus. He is our rock and our firm foundation.

The Lord opposes those who are proud, but He gives grace to the humble. So humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may lift you up in due time. 1 Peter 5:5-6 These two verses come immediately before this more common one. Verse 5 is actually a quotation from Proverbs 3:34. ... In our Tuesday night Bible Study, we’ve been going through the Book of James. To see more pointed thoughts about what God thinks about those who are prideful, check out the end of James 4 and the beginning of James 5. The Lord desires we submit ourselves to Him. Jesus humbled Himself, and became as a man. He was obedient to The Father even unto death...death on a cross. Let’s cast ALL our cares on God, trusting fully in Him beyond all our excuses.
