I don’t particularly have anything insightful of poignant to say. 2020 was very challenging for me, yes. But I’d rather focus on the countless silver linings and unpredictable opportunities that have presented themselves. So here I am on the last day of the year and I am...content. I’ve known for a long time what my purpose is - to bring joy to others through food. To be the connector between the source and the consumer and to push the boundaries of what I think I’m capable of. This is only possible because you’ve trusted me and you’ve followed me along on this journey. I don’t know what the new year will bring but I promise I’ll stay true to my purpose and keep making delicious things. Wishing you all a healthy and prosperous new year! Peace out 2020

Food is 100% my love language. In such a challenging year it brought me so much joy to be able to bake for all of you. Many of whom have come back again and again. I am filled with tremendous gratitude for your support. Despite some great challenges, because of you, I’m invigorated and know that I can push forward. Thank you from the bottom of my soul. Back to my love language - I had a bit of leftover puff pastry from the palmiers, I made Christmas Eve dinner for my fam. Beef Wellington and apple tarte tatin that I made with monk fruit sugar because my dad can’t have sugar. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

A word about tomorrow - @eastvanroasters has been a tremendous support of my endeavors with HAZL. As we approach the last few days to shop before Christmas, the cafe is going to be quite busy. I ask that you please be kind and patient with the staff that have graciously helped me so much. All you beautiful people who are picking up cakes and cookies, maybe consider grabbing a coffee or hot chocolate or the last few stocking stuffers from them. I guarantee you’ll love them as I’m also the chocolatier there, and as much consideration goes into the chocolates as my cakes and cookies. Much love to you all - Gizelle

Today is the last day to order holiday cookie boxes for pickup on Wednesday. I’ll do a proper post after Christmas to express my deep gratitude for all your support. Right now I’ve got another 3 very long days to get through. I also have a couple Cranberry Speculaas cakes left and those are available until the 24th. Cookie box @soniaarl
