As we start the last 2 nights of racing it has been a bit of a reflection time for all of us at the HBPA. This year was most definitely filled with its fair share of challenges, changes and uncertainties that tested the strength, determination and flexibility of our racing community. 2020 proved that the determination, will power, and strength of our community is far greater than any challenge this year had thrown our way. It proved that the little track in Winnipeg Manitob...a is not so little and its heart is huge. It proved that when everyone works together towards a common goal, amazing things happen. A big thank you to Assiniboia Downs, CTHS Manitoba, Manitoba Horse Racing Commission, The Winners Foundation, and of course Final Furlong for all of their help, hard work, support and perseverance. Most of all THANK YOU to our amazing horses and horsemen/ women (owners, trainers, grooms, exercise riders, jockeys). We love you all, and thank you for being with us all season. To our racing fans: Please know that we miss you. Thank you for keeping your distance to keep us safe. We can not wait to see you all again soon! We have some very big THANK YOUs to hand out!! Today was the auction/ sale for Shelley Brown and thanks to a lot of hands making short work, it was a success. Thank you to Assiniboia Downs Staff and Management for all of the assistance. Thank you to the CTHS and Winners for handeling the ticket sales. Thank you to all of the amazing volunteers for giving up their Saturday to help. But Most of all thank you to all our amazing horsemen and women who came out and supported Shelley. We are very thankful for each and every one of you. Our Backstretch is the best!
