Want to Have the Energy to BLAST through Your Workouts, Be an ALL-STAR at Work, and Still Be the SUPER Parent You Know You Can Be? Drink More Water! Hydration Has a Major Effect on Energy Levels and Brain Function... Studies show that even mild dehydration can impair many aspects of health, fitness, and brain function. In a study of young women, a fluid loss of 1.36% after exercise impaired both mood and concentration, as well as increased the frequency of headaches. Another similar study, this time in young men, showed that fluid loss of 1.59% was detrimental to working memory and increased feelings of anxiety and fatigue. A 1-3% fluid loss equals about 1.5-4.5 lbs (0.5-2 kg) of body weight loss for a 150 lbs (68 kg) person. This can easily occur through normal daily activities, let alone during exercise or high heat. During hot summer months make sure to keep hydrated! Especially if you are active! Give this a "like" if your water bottle goes everywhere with you! (Y)

Looking to Feel Confident on The Beach This Summer? Up the protein in your diet! If you feel like you are always hungry, try adding more protein to your meals. For women, you want at LEAST 1 palm-sized (your palm) of protein at EACH meal. For men that goes up to 2! Also try eating the protein portion of your meals before having the sides, which are usually higher in carbohydrates and fats, remembering only to eat until you are about 80% full (content, not stuffed.)... Share this around with your friends who are wondering what to do to improve their eating habits!
