As the coronavirus pandemic continues, some people might wonder whether or not it is safe to see your dentist during this time. Below is a letter I emailed to my patients. If you are my patient and you didnt receive it, please read below. ______________________ Dear patients,... As the Covid-19 pandemic continues to evolve, I want to assure you that your dental office is safe, and patients’ health is our top priority. Dentists and dental staff by profession are highly trained in infection control. We have strict standards and protocols for infection control from the Royal College of Dentists of Ontario and Public Health. Infection prevention and control (IPAC) is a critically important part of safe patient care. Whether we have a viral pandemic or not, we ALWAYS follow strict infection control protocols for disinfecting the rooms and equipment and sterilizing instruments with high standards. This is nothing new to us, disinfection and sterilization is a routine protocol in our office, to ensure patient safety at all times. We do ask that if you are experiencing any flu like symptoms, that you reschedule your appointment for 2-3 weeks. If you have been outside the country, please reschedule your appointment for minimum of 14 days after your arrival. If you have a dental emergency and you are experiencing flu like symptoms, then please inform us ahead of time, we will manage your dental pain accordingly. Our office will be open on our usual business hours. Your health and well-being are our top priority. Our goal is to always to provide you dental care in a safe, clean and comfortable environment.
