Screw new year, new me I’m totally on board for wanting to improve, and I am here for the new year propelling you and giving you that fresh slate that some of us need. But here’s the thing, you don’t need to become a new you, chances are you are pretty great. Now if you want to make improvements, learn a little more or set a new goal for yourself that is totally different. This year instead of massive sweeping goals maybe let’s focus in on changing our perspective and lear...ning more about ourselves and how nutrition and building a better relationship with food can help you get there. The Nutrition Connection program is 8 weeks of delicious meals, simplified meal templates, community encouragement and support, all well moving away from diet mentality, low energy, constant bloating, gas and heart burn The program will be run live so you get to chat and learn from me each week! We will explore a new topic and build a better understanding of how to feed our bodies in a way that doesn’t keep you locked in the kitchen cooking for hours on end. Spaces are limited and registration is already filling up, so head over to the link in my bio for more info and to reserve your spot. #healingginger #nutritionprogram https://www.healing-ginger.com/groupcoaching.html

We’re all a bit weird. When it comes to food mentality, diet culture, fad teas and detoxes and a whole industry geared towards destabilizing us and encouraging distrust in our food choices, it’s no wonder we come out of it a bit weird (for lack of a better way of describing it). Many of us tested out our first diet around the age of 12-14 (some of us enough younger) and because of this it is unfortunately no surprise that we’ve gotten to a point where we are skeptical of ...hunger and fullness cues, let alone if we even actually like the foods that we are eating. As a Nutritionist, I would love to sit here and pretend that my life has been immune to these types of things, but once you take off my glasses, and shove my schooling to the side, it turns out I too am just a regular human person with her own hang ups on food and food choices. Although I myself didn’t come out of diet culture without a few scars I am now fortunate to have schooling, piles and piles of research and experience on my side when it comes to helping others and myself work through this weirdness. Remember you aren’t less than because you are learning or have your own food hang ups. Take one step at a time, and make those steps nice and small so you don’t sleep on the ice (a little Canadian winter humor). What is one thing you’ve done for yourself to help you gain some perspective around nutrition, health and self acceptance? #healingginger

Things are heavy. This page is about nutrition, building healthier relationships with our bodies, minds, and health. It’s about unpacking what is best for us and how to support our whole selves. The truth is nutrition and wellness is so much more than what we choose to eat. How we absorb our food, the state we are in while eating, our daily movement, our perspective and perception of the foods we eat and our nutritional habits all play a role in how nourished our bodies are.... Allowing our bodies to process stress, sadness, disappointment, and anger is an important part of learning how to optimally support our digestion. Understanding of how we are feeling (happy, sad or indifferent) allows us to better approach meal time. This understanding and processing allows us space to refocus our energy to a more productive, supportive and caring space, and hopefully to down regulate our nervous system in order to get into a place where optimal digestion will occur. This is a reminder to do the work you need to do to support that nervous system and that digestive system. How we honor our feelings in regards to food, the world, our families, ourselves, our friendships, our work, etc. will help us better to support ourselves and our digestion. #healingginger

Moving into 2021 with a belly full of chicken stew and dumplings!!!! I have been working on this recipe for a while trying to make it dairy free, getting the right balance of flavor, fat and veggies. And by golly I think I finally did it! I used some coconut butter and oat milk, I have recently make the switch over to using oat milk as a substitute over my trusted coconut milk and it really helped kick things up a notch, if I do say so myself ... If you are interested in delicious filling, satisfying and simple meals, while learning how to get reacquainted with your hunger queues and becoming more confident in the nutrition choices you are making for yourself (and your family) check out my 8 week Live Nutrition Connection Program starting January 21st at 7:30pm EST, early bird pricing applies till January 4th (discount applied at checkout). For more info check out the link in my bio or ask me some questions below https://www.healing-ginger.com//live-nutrition-connection.

I’m not much into New Years resolutions, so much so anytime I’ve been asked what mine was I end up committing to something ridiculous like: going to the movies more and eating more burgers. I understand why we are pulled to make huge generalized sweeping changes every time a new year rolls around, it’s exciting, something about it leaves us feeling like this is finally my chance to commit to ________. Or that old adage of new year, new me! You can’t see it but I’m roll...ing my eyes pretty hard right now See here’s the thing, you don’t need to be a new anything. Can you want to make shifts, improvement, grow and becoming re-inspired by old self commitments? OF COURSE!! Do you need something like NYE to do it? Nope Can a NYE resolution be helpful? Maybe But hear me out, maybe we could spend this energy focusing in, look into your positives, love up the things you like most about yourself, focus on change from a positive place, instead of a if I just had _______ I could finally be _______ 2020 has been, well a lot. What I am suggesting to you is to take a moment to reflect, good, bad, down right shitty, inspirational, motivational, educational. Take stock, what came out of 2020 that you would like to continue building off of and what are you straight up done with and what are the steps your willing and eager to make apart of your life/hold that boundary. Eating healthy is great, exercising is great, but developing our confidence, sense of self and standing firm in all of it will do more for our physical and mental health than kale ever could. What are you doing to make this new year work for you? #healingginger

Early Bird gets the worm With just 4 days left (last day to take advantage of early bird pricing is January 1st) now is the time to make those shifts. It’s time to move away from the sexy siren call of juice cleanses, clean eating, keto this, carb free that and learn how to actually fuel your body. ... This live 8 week Nutrition Connection program is build to help you find that perspective shift. To stop seeing food as the enemy and start enjoy the foods we are eating, while feeling great, feeling satisfied and feeling supported. This program was created to help you discover mindfulness with your nutrition, compassion for old habits (they really do die hard) and to start laying down supportive, sustainable and delicious habits for your current and future self. This year if New Years resolutions are your thing let it be about abundance, support, health and a perspective shift and not about the next fad diet.
