Letting Go of Guilt
Our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of those who lost their lives in this tragic event
I felt I needed to address this topic as this week I heard in a few different circumstances, people talking about using self-care as a way to distract themselves from their emotions. One person mentioned, "Anytime I begin to feel sad about the break up, I distract myself with something I enjoy." It is important that these emotions are processed and not avoided. The emotions we avoid will eventually show up in some way or another, they don't just disappear. They always, always... come back, in some shape or form. Let's use self-care as balance and for self love! If it is being used as a distraction, we aren't doing ourselves any favors, as it is important to process our emotions and to even sit with the pain sometimes. We can then use self-care to balance out our emotions and wellbeing. Self-care and self love is essential to our wellbeing as the negative events in our lives happen without warning and if we don't make an effort to add some positive time in our day, we will begin to feel drained and fall in to a cycle that it may be difficult to get out of. So take care of YOU and don't forget, YOU MATTER

Let them know you are there to just listen if they are willing to talk about it. Tell them: You are worthy. You are NOT alone. You CAN feel better. You DESERVE to feel better!... When was the last time you did something for YOURSELF? How often do you practice self-care? Your worth is NOT based on how much you make. Your worth is NOT based on providing for others and breaking to make others happy. Your worth is NOT BASED on ANYTHING! You are enough, PERIOD!
