Honored to serve our happy customers: "Chrystal is an amazing acupuncturist! She is very knowledgeable and has a calm bedside manner. At Healing River Acupuncture Centre, we use acupuncture therapy to restore and rejuvenate the health of our clients by activating their body's own ability to heal itself. To compliment the acupuncture treatments, we often provide Traditional Chinese Medicine therapy to supply the body with the nutrition and resources it needs to heal. The combination of acupuncture and traditional Chinese herbal therapy has been known to successfully treat a wide range of chronic and acute conditions that Western medicine has had difficulty treating effectively. What is Facial Acupuncture Rejuvenation? Facial Acupuncture Rejuvenation is a safe, painless and effective treatment for renewing the face as well as the whole body. Benefits include the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, sagging tendencies, improvement of muscle tone and the promotion of total health and well-being. Fine needles are placed at a variety of acupuncture points on the face, neck and around the eyes to stimulate the body’s natural energies, or Qi. Since muscle... groups are addressed as well as the acupuncture points, the face lifts itself, via the acupuncture points, through the muscles’ toning and tightening action. The needles also stimulate blood and circulation, which improves facial color and brings more radiance to the skin. Facial Acupuncture Rejuvenation is non-invasive, less costly than surgical procedures, and draws upon the ancient Chinese wisdom related to longevity, beauty and balance. What are acupuncture meridians and acupoints? There are 12 meridians or pathways where energy and blood flow in the body. These 12 meridians are also connected to organs in the body such as the heart, lung liver, stomach, etc. Acupoints, or acupuncture points, are specific points on the body where the channels can be accessed and stimulated. There are more than 400 acupuncture points. Stimulating these points restores balance to the flow of energy in the body and brings h...ealing and well-being. How long will the marks stay on my back after cupping therapy? Some patients are concerned about the light skin bruising that can happen after a cupping treatment. Some discoloration is perfectly normal and are temporary. They usually last from as little as a few hours to about a week before they fade away completely. Cupping is great for muscle relief, promoting cell repair and drawing out harmful toxins, among other things. With more than 8,000 different herbs used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the study and use of herbs dates back over 2,000 years. To extract the benefits of the herbs, they are typically boiled in water and consumed as a drink daily. Can I exercise after a treatment? Am I allowed to take a bath? Do I drink a lot of water? Yes, yes and yes. Some people feel great after their treatment, and I have to remind them to take it easy and not run a marathon or clean the whole house. Yes, you can exercise after an acupuncture treatment. Light movement is best to keep the circulation and flow of energy and blood. But remember not to overdo it and do more than you usually do. Baths/showers are allowed but moderation ...is key avoid very cold or very hot water and don’t let your hair stay damp for too long (your pores tend to stay open after an acupuncture session and you can be vulnerable to damp and cold). Staying hydrated assists in your body’s healing and the physiological rebalancing process. We do recommend taking it easy and not scheduling anything too strenuous afterwards. This can help your body to continue to heal itself and complement the effects of your acupuncture treatment, making it last longer.
