You never know what the conditions will be like in the Addington Highlands, so best to be prepared for anything. A few weeks ago I was snowshoe running in deep snow. Today I had my Dion Lasers strapped to my pack if required, but only needed my Kahtoola MicroSpikes. A beautiful day on the trails along the north shore of both Shawenegog & Sand Lakes. The first snowshoe run of the season is always PURE FREAKIN’ BLISS! Conditions were spectacular in the Addington Highlands today. I started my run wearing @kahtoola MicroSpikes, but glad I brought my @dionsnowshoes_ca Lasers in my backpack and quickly switched into them after the first 10 minutes. Talk about pristine trails! Can’t wait to get back out there!

With sadness we announce that the Dion Ignite the night snowshoe race has been cancelled for this year! We are looking forward to seeing everyone back at Upper Canada Village again in 2022. We are still hopeful for Summerstown and other races though.

This doesn’t happen in other years, but with this years race being held as a virtual run, both race directors got to run the Sydenham Fall Trail Run together today. So far, it looks like my sister has the record in the Sydenham Fall Trail Run Virtual Run with having the coldest temperatures and the furthest distance from Sydenham. Great late season snowshoe running tip/reminder from Corey Turnbull. Dion Snowshoes Ice Cleats are a super durable cleat, especially for late season running, and are quick and easy to change. We currently have good inventory in the ice cleat if you need to pickup a pair.
