A brief article on the use of hypnosis in internal medicine was published recently. https://www.amjmed.com/arti/S0002-9343(20)30946-3/fulltext
Fibromyalgia is one of the most common persistent pain conditions, with multiple ares of pain, sensitivity to touch, tender points in a characteristic distribution, fatigue, difficulty thinking ("fibro fog") and often associated with heartburn (reflux), irritable bowel syndrome, abdominal pain, headaches, TMJ (jaw) pain, anxiety, depression and PTSD. Clinical hypnosis is among the many approaches that can help reduce the pain and relieve the suffering. This is the typical distribution of tender points.
One of the guided processes I use to help people release their persistent physical pain or emotional distress combines elements from clinical hypnosis, NLP, and counselling techniques. It does not require formal hypnosis. Developed by Steven Blake in the UK, he calls his technique OldPain2Go. The singer in this video is singing about the technique. https://www.youtube.com/watch
