Dr. Anurag Singh will be joining us to speak on "Ethnicity and Links to Diabetes and Kidney Health" . Dr. Singh will be presenting this topic at 2:00pm on the mainstage of the Healthier You Expo Sunday Oct.20 thanks to our friends at Northern Health Dr. Anurag Singh is a kidney specialist based in Prince George, leader of the Northern Kidney program and f...aculty member of the UBC. He has been practising in Prince George for the last 6 years. His clinical and research interests lies in studying access to specialist care and health outcomes for minorities and marginalized population groups. Healthier You Expo Mainstage presentation 3pm - Harm Reduction Are you familiar with Harm Reduction? Northern Health's Regional Nursing Lead for Harm Reduction will on hand to deliver a presentation on the importance of this initiative to promote healthy communities and helps communities provide services that are caring and sensitive to the needs of the community. PRESENTER - REANNE SANFORD RN, BSN, C... Regional Nursing Lead - Harm Reduction Northern Health | Quesnel Public Health Reanne Sanford was born and raised in Quesnel, BC. She has spent the majority of her nursing career in her hometown, on the traditional and unceded territory of the L'htako Dene nation. For 13 years, she worked as a generalist public health nurse and later as the local street nurse. In 2016, she took on the role of the Regional Nursing Lead for Harm Reduction for Northern Health. In this role, she is responsible for providing content expertise and practice support for harm reduction services across the region. Part of her job is working with populations who have been historically underserved. This has created a broader understanding for her on what it means to be marginalized and how deeply stigma in rural and remote communities can impact an individuals health and wellbeing.
