Day 21 in 2021! They say it takes 21 days to make or break a habit. How have you been doing with your intentions for the New Year? Are you still in for #dryjanuary What I know from experience is that in order to make something a lifestyle change you must keep at it for at least 3 months or even better, that day milestone. My personal goals for 2021 include surpassing my longest stretch of AF days, get back to a healthy state (mind and body) and share my journey by finally ...starting to compile from all of my lessons learned shared in my blogs and groups since 2013. Today I wanted to share something from one of the members of "Lose 'da Booze 100 Days Success Group". This member has been a part of the SECRET group since we started it... it's proof that we support EVERYONE so even if you don't get it right the first time - we continue to cheer you on until you reach the goal that YOU set for yourself... "I posted a little bit ago about hitting an AF milestone. I’m definitely happy about it, but wanted to point out that getting to this poi...nt has never been easy, and this is far from my first try at going it sober. I have fallen down and failed in my attempts more times than I can count. I’d go 1 day, drink again. 3 days, drink again. I had never gone more than maybe a week or so AF in my adult life up until 2 years ago. I completed the 100 day challenge in 2017, but then right after, I fell right back into my old patterns. Today marks the longest period of time (50 days) that I’ve been sober since April ‘17. The reason I’m writing this is because while I’m doing well in managing my sobriety now, that hasn’t always been the case, and in all honestly probably won’t always be the case. But even when times are their absolute worst, there are better times ahead if you keep trying again and again. Stumbling and falling are parts of success. If I can do it, I know that all of you can." What makes you feel alive and full of energy? Too often we focus on the negatives which actually drains us and leaves us feeling low. It's sometimes a struggle to focus on the positives but it's a daily practice that is so simple, yet so effective in changing your mindset. Let go of the negative self-talk. Stop complaining and start acknowledging the good that you have in your life. If you focus on lack - there will always be a lack. If you focus on the gifts in your life, yo...u will attract more. This is what my morning routine allows me to do. When I miss it - getting up early and doing my readings, positive affirmations and posting for my coaching business and groups - it simply lights me on fire! I love being of service to others. Sure I have many challenges and things outside of my control with respect to how things are going... but all I can do is make sure I continue to practice what I know lifts my energy up.
