The Healthy Lake Committee is holding an online 50/50 draw fundraiser! We were unable to hold our annual ice fishing derby this year due to COVID. The annual derby is how we raise the majority our of funds each year, so since we won’t have that income for 2021, we have to fundraise in other ways in 2021! 50/50 tickets will be sold until March 21st and the draw will be held on March 23rd. After a very successful weekend at the Pelican Lake Fun Family Fishing we received almost 30 pictures of Fords out on the ice! Wow! Awesome photos from everyone who participated in our Fun Family Fishing Weekend! We'll be contacting each person on facebook to let them know what prize they won and to make arrangements to get their prize to them. As you may have guessed, due to COVID-19 the Healthy Lake Committee will not be able to host our regular Ice Fishing Derby for the first time in 8 years. However, we have decided to make the most of a challenging situation and will organize a Fun Family Fishing weekend in place of the derby this year! Participants will be able to interact virtually while fishing in their household/cohorts at Pelican Lake on March 6th and 7th. Participation will be free, and people will be abl...e to participate by posting various pictures of their activities throughout the weekend. Photo criteria will be announced just prior to the date and won’t necessarily involve catching the biggest fish! Instead, our focus will be on participation and families getting out on the lake. Posted photos will result in participants’ names being entered into various draws for prizes like gift cards, etc. Online 50/50 will be held leading up to the date. Further details will be posted closer to March 6th-7th, both here and on our website www.healthylake.ca. All participants will be required to follow the Government's COVID regulations that are in place at the time. Local businesses/past sponsors will be receiving an email or message from us this week. In October, the Healthy Lake Committee received a generous donation from the CGSB 2020 Lottery. The Pleasant Valley Golf Club participated in the CGSB Lottery this year, and they requested that a percentage of ticket sales be donated to the Healthy Lake Committee. As a result, we received a donation of $2,458! We are so grateful to have local businesses that care about our efforts as much as we do. We couldn't do it without support like this! Thanks again to the Pleasant Valley Golf Club.

For those that may be interested, the Killarney Lake Action Committee is hosting an Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) info session on July 28th, 2020!
