Years back, our pastor began to say things about church that a lot of Christians didn't want to hear. He would say that the beautuful cathedrals we call church are not The Church. The alters endowed with flowers and elements of worship are not any holier than any other building. That the only thing that makes a place holy is the the people that gather with pure hearts and made holy, by faith. We could meet in the most seemingly unholy place, like a night club, and God would... still show up. What a revelation! We prepared for this day. We knew it would come. Today as many Christians worship from the comfort of their homes, or listen to live or recorded media, know that we are the church. You do not need to be in a building or to go to alters designed by men. Thank God for technology, that has been used in many different ways for good or for evil. But God has allowed technological advances to prosper the growth of the church in this season. Quarantine principles: It's ok to stock up with food and other supplies. But hoarding is absolutely not allowed. I think modern day society is too wasteful. We eat too much. We deplete earth's resources as if there is no tomorrow. We are overleveraged and using up resources meant for the next generations.... The present lock downs should help us to understand that we don't need much to live. We can do with little. Who knows how this is going to last? When the time comes, are we going to be willing to share what we stocked up with those who don't have supplies? Only change in our thinking will.
