Summer Update! From July 24th to August 7th I will be on vacation and therefore, Healthy Orange will be closed. With all the risks, complications and difficulties regarding COVID-19 I have decided not to have a replacement for the time I am away. I apologize for the inconvenience.... The clinic will also be closed on August 12-13. I will be participating in the Kids Cancer foundation's cycling challenge. This is a fundraiser for a great cause. Between August 9th and August 16th, each participant who has signed up has to ride either 250km or 500km. I have signed up for the 500km and will ride those 500 km from Lake Louise to Jasper (240km) on August 12 and the next day back from Jasper to Castle Junction (260km) with 3990 elevation gain in total. That's a tall order but well worth the effort. If you want to support me and the Kids Cancer Foundation please click on the link below to donate and for more detailed information. Thank you! Stay healthy and safe, https://kidscancercare.akaraisin.com//cyclechallenge/parti

On Thursday, Premier Kenney announced that certain medical services, under which Physiotherapy falls, are allowed to open again on Monday, May 4th. After awaiting the recommendations from our College, I have decided to open my doors again for in-person treatments starting next week. As always, there will be only 1 patient per time-slot in the clinic and increased disinfection will take place. Please remember to keep each other safe and healthy during COVID 19. Do not com...e in when you feel sick or even just under the weather. Tele-rehabilitation has proven to be a very useful tool and I will continue to offer this as well if you need help but don't want to come in. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. AND as if it was meant to be: May the fourth be with you! Anjo

COVID-19 has stopped regular business but opened up opportunities too. Tele rehabilitation allows me to work with patients near and far. This time a cyclist in the Netherlands. Exercise is the same here or there, just the language changes. Stay active, safe and healthy everyone and let me know if you any questions.

In these times there is definitely room for some good news! Healthy Orange is the very proud sponsor of these two athletes who were awarded the Scott Zahn Bursary 2019/20 (Quinn) and the Sportsmanship Award 2019/20 (Robin).... Keep up the good work!! Nakiska Alpine Ski Association: It is my pleasure to inform you that Quinn is the recipient of the U10+ Scott Zahn Athlete Bursary. Here is a note from coach Alison: Quinn is always energetic, respectful and positive on the hill. No matter what terrain that we are skiing, drill or discipline that we are working on, Quinn is always ready to ski. On top of that, Quinn shows incredible sportsmanship by supporting each of his teammates and has positive attitude no matter what his results are. Quinn’s clear passion for ski racing and determination to succeed make him very deserving of the Scott Zahn Bursary. ---------------------------------------------------------- The Nakiska Alpine Ski Association U16 Sportsmanship Award goes to Robin Roelofs! Her U16 coaches wrote this about her: Robin excelled with her approach and attitude this year, being super hardworking and keen all season long. Her confidence has grown and she truly has become a leader amongst the U16 group this season. Robin did put a lot of effort into improving her TFS skills and applied those skills in the course to make a big difference in her confidence. She is always among the first ones on the hill every day and the first one to help the team and the coaches when needed. Whether she was having a good or bad result on the race days, she was always there to support the teammates, to carry jackets and to help cheer the team. Robin has been an all-around pleasure to coach and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for her!

Healthy Orange 04.08.2020

Dear Patients, After following the development of COVID-19, the recommendations by the government of Alberta and listening to the statement of Physiotherapy Alberta, please read excerpt below; I have decided to remain Open.... "We have been listening to the comments of the Prime Minister, Premier, and Chief Medical Officer of Health with concern, particularly as they relate to the length of time that we can reasonably expect to have fundamental disruptions to the way we live, work and interact with others. These experts aren’t talking about disruptions for days or a week or two, but rather for several weeks or even months. One of Physiotherapy Alberta’s ongoing concerns is the importance of addressing the health needs of Albertans during this time of pandemic. We recognize that other health concerns and needs will continue to arise. People will continue to have strokes, they will have car accidents, they will slip and sprain their ankles, many are still recovering from surgeries conducted before elective operations were suspended, others will continue to struggle with chronic pain. While some patients’ needs can reasonably be deferred for weeks or months while Albertans continue to limit interpersonal contact, others may be unable to wait. Of this group, some needs may potentially be addressed using remote delivery of healthcare, however; other patients will not be able to be managed in this way, either due to the nature of their health condition or a lack of access to the necessary technology to make telerehabilitation service delivery possible. " HOWEVER, this absolutely doesn't mean it is business as usual. Should you consider coming in for a physiotherapy assessment or treatment but aren't sure whether coming in is the right step to take, please contact me and we can discuss your situation. If you have any questions or an issue you need help with, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am more than willing to help out with advice, tips, exercises or stretches to help you self manage your problem for the time being. IMPORTANT, if you have recently travelled, have been in contact with someone who has travelled, if you are not feeling well or if you have been in contact with someone who is not feeling well than please DO NOT come in. I have now spaced my treatments apart by a 10 minute window to allow patients to leave and arrive without running into the next or previous patient. It also gives me enough time to disinfect the high touched areas. Let's help each other out in this difficult time! Stay healthy and safe, Anjo Roelofs

Dear Patients, During these unprecedented times regarding COVID-19, Healthy Orange Sports Physiotherapy will maintain normal operation to treat your physical complaints. However with the situation developing and changing rapidly operating hours can change quickly too. Please make sure to check back regularly for updates!... If you have recently travelled internationally or if you are not feeling well then please cancel your appointment. Since I work with only one patient at a time I consider my clinic a low risk environment. To keep it that way I would like to ask of you to come in at exactly your treatment time. This allows for patients to leave the clinic and for me to clean the high touched areas before you come in. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. Stay healthy and safe! Anjo Roelofs

Another race in the books. The Super G for the U14’s at Nakiska. Seeing these 12 and 13 year olds throw themselves down the mountain is impressive to watch. Nikki, our Healthy Orange athlete, skied like her skis were on fire!! Nicely done Nikki.

Healthy Orange 29.06.2020

Another busy weekend for The Healthy Orange Athletes. Quinn U10 and Nikki U14 training at Nakiska, the exciting Super G is coming up for the U14’s. Robin was racing at Sunshine. GS and SL. Lots of DNFs, also for Robin. That was frustrating and disappointing. 5 days of skiing, of which 4 days racing hard, took its toll. The race in Jasper is waiting for another chance!!... Luckily no major injuries for any of the racers. See more

The ski season is now in full swing and the Healthy Orange athletes are training and racing hard and best of all, staying injury free! After Norquay for Robin, West Castle for Nikki it was time for Quinn to race in Sunshine. He had a great time and well. ... Robin’s video below is taken by her coach during SG training. Thank you very much Milan for the great footage. It is shows how fast those kids are flying down the mountain. Good luck Robin at your next race in Lake Louise!
