We planted another 400 trees this morning at our first site as part of our Data Gap Analysis project funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation! These trees wil...l help reconnect fragmented forested areas within the Upper 12 Mile Creek Watershed and provide habitat for a diversity of species. Last Wednesday the Niagara Chapter organized and hosted a virtual stakeholder meeting to initiate watershed management planning for Upper Twelve Mile Creek. Ove...r 42 stakeholders attended representing the NPCA, Niagara Region, the town of Pelham, Thorold, St. Catharines and others. Presentations by Jack Imhoff (TUC) Ian Smith (TUC Niagara, Sean Norman (Niagara Region) Geoff Verkade (NPCA) and Deanna Lindblad (TUC Niagara) provided context. The next step is to convene a working group to start work on an Action Plan for preserving and protecting the watershed. See more
