I love this prayer for caregivers in overwhelm; Sometimes all we need to do is surrender and ask Divine to reveal and illuminate the right path. Be gentle with yourself today.
Hello dear caregivers, I haven’t posted much since my role as a family caregiver shifted. Please accept my apologies for that. I have been busy taking care my beautiful mother since she had a stroke in April 2017. She is now residing in a Nursing Home since last October. Her physical, emotional and spiritual health has somewhat improved since her arrival in her new home. Indeed her life is very different to what she was used too, but my siblings and I visit daily to help dim...inish her loneliness and ensure she continues to contribute to the community as much as possible. She attends church three times a week, uses the wheelchair-bike and exercises regularly. She joins her co-residents to the activities. She goes outside daily and enjoys the sunshine and socialization. She continues to enjoy making healing crystal bracelets and prays for those who requests one. Thank you to all those who have purchased one. This hobby has given her a sense of mission and she loves being able to contribute to the wellness of others.
Tellement vrai!!!!
Here I am with my wonderful and beautiful mother. This picture was taken on Mother’s Day. She was admitted to a Nursing Home in October 2017. She lost her mobility last April 2017 and unfortunately was not able to return home to live with one of her daughter’s and her family. I am blessed to have 8 siblings, who share daily visits. Her life has been enriched because she has made new friends at the Nursing Homes, attends leisure activities, goes to physio daily, goes to mass 3x a week and receives compassionate care from caregivers. She uses a cell phone to contact us and share her daily life experiences. I feel blessed and privileged to be there for her.
I love this post. Rings true for me.
Holding space is something we do for caregivers at my Rest and Restore Your Spirt Retreats. As a family caregiver myself, I’ve learned a lot about the magic of connection by holding space for my mother who was affected by a stroke last April. Being there and listening helps her and others transcend and transform. See what Heather Plett has to say on the subject.
