Good to see the truth revealed...!

HeartLand Soil & Crop Solutions 20.11.2020

Good afternoon! Just in time for Spring 2020! As agriculture becomes more competitive there is the need to become better as growers in how we perform tasks and manage data. So, since I am beginning to step into some form of precision agriculture on the soil side of things, I thought it would be a good fit to market a GPS unit for farmers/growers. Attached you’ll see a PDF with details on Machinery Guide’s guidance and variable rate GPS units. As of about two weeks ago, HeartL...and Soil & Crop Solutions is an official dealer of these units. Having a GPS unit in your tractor will save you from too much over-lap or misses while at the same time give you another tool to keep on-farm records. Machinery Guide is a cloud-based program where once you’ve completed a job (fertilizer spreading etc), you can upload that job using your WiFi connection and then log into the Machinery Guide website and view all completed jobs from any device with internet access. Here is the website for further info https://machineryguide.hu/index Please PM me if you’d like more info on these units or if you have other questions.

Barley harvest 2019 was a challenge but once again, considering all the adverse conditions, I am happy with the resulting yield! When we did get it off in late October, the average yield came to 2.54 metric tonne per acre on our 85 acre field! That, in prairie lingo equals 116 bu/ac using a 48 lb barley as the base. Even though this yield is better than the 2.4 metric tonne in 2018, I believe we left a few bushels on the table so-to-speak because if a lower than planned/desired seeding rate.
