Good news research alert: Researchers from St. Paul’s Hospital are developing a blood test to identify people at risk of getting seriously ill after a COVID-19 ...diagnosis so they can receive care to prevent them from getting sicker. Leading the research is Dr. Mari DeMarco, principal investigator at the Centre for Heart Lung Innovation. Dr. DeMarco's test could be used to monitor high-risk people, such as seniors, who have been infected, and help guide care and ease the severity of a person's disease course https://bit.ly/30A9Gqs See more

Not all superheroes wear capes. Some wear lab coats, like Dr. Christoper Ryerson, head of respiratory medicine at St. Paul’s and a principal investigator at the... Centre for Heart Lung Innovation whose new research will focus on lung and respiratory complications of the coronavirus. Our goal is to support patients now and to provide a road map for clinicians to use during future infectious disease outbreaks, says Dr. Ryerson https://bit.ly/3iqGOsv

It's been an eventful week at #CPRatHLI! First, we were excited to have Dr. Ganive Bhinder share about her career journey and role in Health Policy. It was an inspiring and eye-opening presentation into the world of non-profits, community engagement, and Provincial and Federal regulations. Thank you Ganive, for sharing your experience with us! Next, we had the opportunity to tour the facilities at Aspect Biosystems, a local biotech company specializing in 3D bioprinting and t...issue engineering. In only a few minutes, we witnessed the entire process of designing to printing the final product! Thank you Lexcy Li and Christopher Dickman for hosting us! To learn more about the CPR program and how we are preparing trainees for their future careers, follow #CPRatHLI on social media, or email us at [email protected] to be notified for future events.
