We will be receiving very large shipments of perishable items from the group that is donating to us on the last Sunday of every second month. We have decided to only do it every two months so that we have time to collect non-perishable food items to go with the Hampers. I am putting out a desperate plea for another family needing help Famiky #176 A couple with one childstill needs extra hamper items. Amazing we are almost done. That is 177 families fully sponsored and 422 children receiving new PJs, an outfit and a gift ... We are now running the 21 days of giving on the Campaign to Empower the Community Group. We will be running multiple draws offering new items for families to win as Christmas gifts for their family members both young and old. We have now made 305 draw packages of brand new items for families to use as Christmas presents. These are going to families that have not been sponsored on the Christmas Campaign... it’s definitely the true meaning of Christmas and the Gift of Giving ... I am completely amazed at how the Christmas campaign just keeps growing. Last year we had 93 families sponsored and 205 children received new clothes, pyjamas and toys. This year we are already up to 144 families. That’s 345 children receiving new clothes and toys. Covid has hit a lot of families, and a lot of families are struggling. But I am amazed at how the community has come together to support others in their time of need. My vision of fostering and building a commu...nity of people helping people is definitely coming through at this time. Thank you to all the amazing sponsors that have come forward. If there is anyone that doesn’t have the ability to completely sponsor a family but can provide a Christmas dinner please let me know. We have a few families that would benefit from at least receiving a dinner. Also starting December 1 , we do 21 days of giving. We have received a large donation of new toys that we will put up as draws for families to win. They can then use these toys as Christmas gifts for their children. So we are looking for donations of new pajamas. These draws will then include new pyjamas and a couple new toys. This will be offered to the families that have not been sponsored on the Christmas Campaign. Any donation to bring families a warm meal or a small gift under the tree is greatly appreciated. Hearts -Helping Everyone Access Resources Through Supports in Conjunction with the Campaign to Empower the Community Group is doing a clothing drive!!! It’s that time of year again Back to school. Families are struggling to be able to provide their children with clothing and footwear. The clothing list on the campaign to empower the community page is very long I am reaching out to this community in hopes that people will have children’s clothing and footwear that they no ...longer need and are willing to pass on to families in need. I have a drop off location in Sherwood Park as well as Saint Albert , Northwest Edmonton, Millwoods , downtown area and the Westend near West Edmonton Mall after the long weekend. We also now have a drop off address south side of the white mud. We have a desperate need for boys clothing size 3 up to size 14 In desperate need for girls clothing size 3 up to ladies medium for teenage girls. Lots of families in needing Westend pick up !! If people are unable to drop off but do you have items to offer I can make pick up arrangements. So please if your children have outgrown their clothing or winter wear please consider offering them to one of our families in need. I thank you all in advance. Help we are desperately looking for donations of bikes. We have so far provided over 315 bikes to children from families in need. We desperately need bikes for kids aged 9-17 . We have a waiting list of about 36+ children. We currently need 7- 26 inch , 11-24 inch, 9-20 in, 5-18, 4-16 boys We have a gentleman donating his time to do minor repairs and tube ups. If you or anyone you know has a bike or bikes you no longer use please contact me . Also willing to pick up sm...aller bikes but big bikes more in demand at this time. It is with a very heavy heart that we must post, that all our upcoming Ribfest Fundraisers are now CANCELLED. This is devastating as this was our way to raise funds to try to get a new centre up and running for Hearts to help low income and working poor families We are praying that everyone will still support us with other upcoming fundraisers for Hearts... We have a new board with committed individuals. We will all work together, we are dedicated and wholeheartedly working towards our goal. We want to get Hearts open again. We know this resource is needed. It is a process and we continue to learn each day how hard the road is. We are determined to reach our final destination
