It’s pumpkin seed time. Are you looking for things to do with your pumpkin seeds (or pumpkins)? They’re delicious for people when roasted - but the raw seeds also make a great de-wormer for our pigs. We welcome you to bring any raw seeds you’ve collected out to the farm, where we’ll put them to good use!

Usually on social media you snap your whole meal on the plate. I decided to share my enjoyment instead. This is (or was) Pizza Pi from @thecornerstoneguelph. Each pizza’s topping boasts the product and story of a different vendor. This slice, before I demolished it, featured @guelphmushrooms from The Mushroom Ladies. Sooo good. And the crust, like Mark Rodford himself (@howryanow), is not to be trifled with. Unlike the cardboard stuff you get from the pizza chains, these crusts are a commitment, but man, worth it! #pizzapi #mushrooms

If you’ve ever wondered how some of our fruit ciders are made, here’s a firsthand look at part of the process. For every batch of Currant Affair (our black currant cider) we mash the currants into a paste before adding them to the base cider to coferment. We just added these beauties into our latest batch - now we wait for them to work their magic. #currants

In food and beverage manufacturing, process circularity refers, in part, to how we turn our waste outputs into useful inputs elsewhere in the operation. Ah, a new addition to the bottle shop! Raspy Poet is one of our favourite ciders, due to its character and complexity; the aromatic raspberry comes through in full force since it’s bone-dry and unfiltered, and 7 weeks of bottle-conditioning bring some added depth of flavour. Enjoy! #poetic

Today, we release our latest fruit cider: Blue Bear’s Brother . Wild-fermented, unfiltered, and blended with blueberries (and a hint of raspberry), this cider is a refreshing way to enjoy the remainder of summer. When Matt, our cider maker, was 4 years old, he lost his favourite stuffed animal, Blue Bear. This cider is a tribute to Blue Bear, who we know is now a fully grown bear in the wild #wildbutfriendly

As we move into August, more of our early-season apple varieties continue to ripen in our orchard. Summer and fall always provide a tasty bounty for us - we’re excited to press some of these into juice and see what happens!
