Excited to add this learning/tool to my work with teams and individuals. As we begin to consider how we’ll be when we emerge from this pandemic, resilience (managing stress, adapting to change, being proactive) is one powerful piece to build into our work individually and collectively. #workingwithresilience #coachingduringcovid
This is the time of year when I work from Mexico. I continue with my coaching, have meetings and focus on learning and growing, both as a coach and as an individual. I was struck yesterday by the reminder that being a ‘learner’ can be uncomfortable #stepoutsideyourcomfortzone #growthmindset http://ow.ly/PVGh50yoRRV
I have the best job. So grateful that I get to work alongside such vulnerable, kind and inspired leaders from various sectors. #grateful #inspiredleadership #dowhatyoulove
Hmmm- how can we listen more deeply in our relationships? Lots of good thoughts, here... "'When my sister moved, we were forced to recognize we had all these preconceived notions about who the other was, Ms. Goldsworthy said. We weren’t really listening to each other, which made it harder for us to really know each other.'" ... "But what is love if not a willingness to listen to and be a part of another person’s evolving story? A lack of listening is a primary contributor t...o feelings of loneliness." #listen #increasingawareness #KateMurphy See more
In the fall of 2017, Bruce Rodriguez (then the Deputy Minister of Education) gave me 45 minutes to answer the question: ‘What are we missing when it comes to leadership in education in Ontario?' https://www.heatherclaytonconsulting.com//results-assumpt/
Excited to be in BC this week working w leaders and organizations that want to grow ‘coach-likeness’ as part of their culture and operating system as leaders! So grateful!
Happy weekend, all!
Please join us tomorrow at 2PM EST. Not able to join us? No worries! This link will have the live podcast recording available soon after the call #cutvnews https://bit.ly/2QwmA4V
A few days later, I asked my husband if he thought the tree was leaning a little? It might be, he said, but it’s pretty slight, and so we continued all the important busyness that seems to fill this time of year.
Happy New Year! Hard to believe we find ourselves in 2020...a new year and a new decade. Although I’ve been a bit absent on social media over the last few years, I’ve been busy connecting with amazing leaders across North America. I love my job. I get to work with people who wish to deepen their self-awareness and grow in their leadership to create healthy, thriving teams and organizations. Does it get any better? As we head into this year, I am excited to share more about the work I’m doing! In fact- something I’m looking forward to in the next week is a live web interview with CUTV News in their Empowered Women Series on January 8th at 2pm EST. So grateful for this opportunity to share more about the work I’ve been doing with leaders. Would love for you to join me!
Excited to be filming videos that will help to teach coaching skills to leaders, and also collecting the expertise and experience to share about how an organization becomes more coach-like. Shout out to Darin Steinkey Aldridge Street Print & Media, for doing an amazing job of building a set (in his living room) and helping to tell the story. Thanks also to Tracey Burns, Kate Knight, Alison Mcallum, Keith Driscoll, and Bob Snowden. Excited to see the end products!
Spending time in Mexico City doing service and thinking a lot about fear as I witness more barbed wire and bars than I have ever seen. While I’m not naive, I do wonder how living w fear to this degree impacts people’s lives? Then, I also realize that as people, and as leaders, we can also put up bars, hunker down, hide... perhaps naming our fears, perhaps not. How would we and our communities be different if we were able to show up more fully as ourselves? What bars or gates do we need unlock?
Excited for this week with 2 Ontario school board leadership teams, kicking off my Innovating Leadership: Building a Coaching Culture program... 18 months of growing leadership together!!
