It keeps changing, doesn't it?

I’m loving making the rocks and roots.

It's coming along.

This is the next one on the painting board. It’s a full sheet of paper so approximately 30x22.

I'm trying things. Not sure I like what's happening on the right side.

This is how it looked at the end of the day, yesterday.

Oh boy, here we go...never know what might happen.

I finished this little painting today. It started as a plein aire painting from the class I led in Grand Forks. I took photos while we were there so that I could continue working on it. The first image shows how it looked at the end of the day in Grand Forks. The next two show how I carried on from home.

This is my bigger and better rose. I stuck with watercolour because I just don’t have the room in my current abode to set up for oils.

I finally found some peace and time to work on the dragonfly. I darkened the shadows on the reeds on the left and added light to a few of the panes on the wings on the left. I brightened the light on the tops of the wings, as well. Also, worked quite a bit on the ripples in the water. I also am learning how difficult it is to photograph acrylic paintings. Yeesh!

A small study, about 8x6, of a photo I took last month. I’m thinking about trying it in oils.

Had a very nice evening painting with some lovely people in Grand Forks on Friday. Just managed to beat the smoke that was rolling in from the south.

I’m not going to say that I’m finished working on the dragonfly because that might be a lie. LOL. But I’ve taken a break and have switched to the water. Creating highlights and shadows some more interest.Just making stuff up. Now that I see it in the photograph I can see that I’ve got a weird pattern of waves. Way too uniform. Not natural at all.
