The Window

Some salmon I have known.... Or So many salmon and too many years later. Please note, there is trout in this group, also a steel head, never sure if they are in or out of the salmon designation. i opt for their inclusion.

I know i haven't wrote much over this summer but people that know me know that I have been through a rough patch lately, my husband. Micky, passed away. I have been trying to catch up with things but "stuff" keeps popping up to remind me of how much I miss him. These watercolours are from a trip around Great Britain. I wanted to do a painting a day, but Micky wanted to do a pub a day, the compromise was that I painted a pub a day while he was having a pint there. Win Win..... The one pub, The Black Swan, is in the town where I was born, Melton Mobray, famous for meat pies and Stilton cheese. It was my father's local and a favorite of Micky's.

These are Kneadable Eraser Pets made during mental blocks while working on a large art project. My kneadable eraser is easier to manipulate than abstract concepts and so it gets the brunt of my "working through a brain fart" time. Usually they are spontaneous wee things, then they develop some character, then they are sketched out on a corner of the art project, life size (1/2 to 1 inch in height), while I sort out the "hesitation of hand" (procrastination). Naming them comes last.
