Hebrew Academy will be participating in the Israeli "Taste of Memories" project to commemorate the lives of fallen soldiers in honour of Yom Hazikaron. Tonight, at 7:00 pm, Elementary parents and children are invited to join HA mom and chef Erin Halpern as she leads a special brownie- baking class in memory of Ari Greenzweig z"l (we will use his favourite recipe - see the ingredients here). Recently we announced the finalists of Grade 6's "My Family Story", a project of Israel's Beit Hatfutsot Museum of the Jewish People. Our annual exhibit is usually open to students' families. Because of Covid, we were unable to host guests this year. Luckily, Elementary Director of French Studies and Academics Dr. Miriam Schrager saved the day; Mme. Miriam assembled a beautiful virtual expo which offers a behind-the-scenes look at students' incredible projects. Kollel Torah MiTzion Montreal's annual community-wide Yom Hazikaron ceremony and Yom Ha'Atzmaut celebration is always outstanding and this year will be no exception! We can't wait to participate!

Our KA and B Extended Day children have been working very hard with Morahs Sherri Posluns, Arielle Rohr, Leora Suissa, Shirel Benisty and Lauren Berman and Moreh Gabriel Cohen on these pretty mishloach manot pockets, filled with yummy Purim treats!

Mazal Tov to Rebecca Bratin who celebrates her Bat Mitzvah today! Rebecca shared a beautiful dvar Torah with her Bat Mitzvah class this morning (stay tuned to read it in Highlights), and her family treated all the Grade 6 girls to a yummy lunch!

Grades 9 to 11 students are having their concours d'art oratoire finals this week as part of the French curriculum. Students were challenged to explain or share their opinion of a quote from Le Petit Prince. "All of them made a remarkable effort, and wowed their teachers!" said High School French Department Head and teacher Mme Danielle Joseph. Congrats to Grade 10 finalists Michael Silverman, David Fallenbaum, Yaniv Dahan, Naomi Abenhaim, Sabrina Laredo, Miriam Cohen, and Esther Sherrf (all pictured with Mme Joseph), Grade 9's Aurélie Anidjar, Liela Silbiger and Yaïr Bouhadana, and Grade 11's Eden Zrihan and Josh Samuels! The winners will be announced a little later when the junior finals are done.

It's a great day for a carnival (but isn't every day a great day for a carnival?)! Throughout the week, Team Kollel Torah MiTzion Montreal , Eli VeSivan BA Montreal and Director of Student Activities & Athletics Yoni Lehrer are running a fabulous Shuk Purim for our High School students, complete with fun stations and teen-approved prizes! The fun at HA just never stops!
