Tuesday’s Reflection: Older group today - Babysitting, mostly younger end of ages 11-15. Again, we talked. About the feels. Kids with a goofy, but serious when she needs to be, not my parent adult. The not my parent part is key. Cuz tbh parents, you’re kinda gettin’ on their nerves...example: many of you are wondering what tbh even means - *insert eyeroll*We talked about pandemic things that were kinda cool, and the things that sucked - ALOT! We talked about t...he what we need to do, and the why we need to - and these punks GET IT! We adults worry about people (kids included) getting sick and dying. These punks aren’t stupid. And they know the seriousness of it. They worry too. They worry about not being able to hang with their friends. They worry about having to go back to online learning where they can’t ask questions. We wore masks - ALL DAY. We went outside to take breaks from the masks. We kept 6 feet apart as much as possible. We laughed. We...I mean, I complained about my mask - because it got spitty from talking so much. We listened to music while we worked. Everyone left with smiling eyes, happy hearts after their first formal class like activity since March. Look out world - this up and coming COVID generation is gunning to be tough and classy like we haven’t seen in a few generations Not sure who learned more from who in the last 2 days...#igotschooled See more

Today we hosted an in person StaySafe! Course...small group of 9-10 year olds. Perhaps key was small group. This particular group stole my . For many adults, parents, teachers, students and community members, Tuesday marks a HUGE milestone in this pandemic. Anxieties are on the rise. These rockstars followed guidelines provided to them regarding arrival procedures, instructions given to them about seating arrangements, talked openly about ALL THE FEELS this COVIDs got us... feelin, kept their distance from each other ANNNNNNDDDDD NAILED the mask wearing. We talked about it openly. We made sure to understand how and why. Parents have been preaching - sometimes hearing the same message from not my parents helps. We took a fresh air, mask free, walk around the block as a break. And we realized that if we give em a solid pair of wings, these kids just might fly!!! Sippin from a full cup tonight after an amazing day See more

Its been a busy couple of months
Beware of little sponges, taking it all in...
May we all be gentle with ourselves, and extra kind with one another in the days and weeks ahead...not matter how directly or indirectly we may have been impacted, lets not forget that impact is impact, and although it affects us all differently, bottom line is it affects us. Be gentle
