To all my fellow foot care nurses, I hope you're doing well and most of you are back to seeing clients. We certainly live in unique and challenging times( also frustrating..) but try not to lose hope. I know most of us -including myself- having a hard time finding supplies. Luckily we are still able to get KN95 face masks. We are still waiting for news on the very popular podiatry drills, the Auroria and Veloria. I'm hoping to release some news in the near future..

As many of you know Health Canada has confirmed that any rotary device intended to be used in therapeutic footcare must be a Class II medical device. The Auroria and the Veloria are not licenced as Class II medical devices in Canada and will not be available as such on the market any longer. I had several long meetings with Health Canada in the past few weeks and it has been confirmed that none of the podiatry drills ( that are on the market) in Canada are licensed as clas...s II medical devices, "there do not appear to be any licensed for sale in Canada". However Health Canada only controls licensing and sales, if you have a podiatry drill that you're currently using such as the Auroria, Veloria, Helius Medicool etc...you can keep using it in your foot care practice. This news might come as a shock but do not lose hope or panic. The manufacturer, importer and myself have been working very hard in the last few weeks to bring solution to this issue and we're very close to a solution. I'm very optimistic about the future and know that this situation is only temporary. If you're thinking about purchasing a podiatry drill may I recommend that you hold off for 2 month until further clarifications will be announced.
