For over four months, an armed conflict has been unfolding in the Tigray area, northern Ethiopia, and civilians are paying for it. The war has killed thousands and displaced over 2 million people. People have been living in schools, scared, hungry, and hopeless. Hundreds of thousands could starve. Most of them are sharing sleeping mats and blankets or sleeping on the floor. They lost family members, friends and all their belongings. From South Korea to the world! Our story began in 1991, supporting long-term patients with Tuberculosis (TB), as well as assisting children with disabilities and in orphanages, and rural communities. Only one year later, we started working on international development with a relief project in Bangladesh, and the rest is history. We cooperate with United Nations agencies, like the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), the High Commissioner for Refug...ees (UNHCR), and the World Food Programme (WFP). We also have General Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC). Today we celebrate 30 years! We have helped over 8 million people across the globe, and we continue to be good neighbours to anyone in need of help. Through branches in seven countries (52 only in Korea), we implement a wide range of development projects in 40 countries, like building clean water wells in Africa through our Good Water project.
