Almost every parent I talk to feels guilty about yelling at their kids. That guilt usually comes from a feeling like they're ruining their child forever. And th...at's a lot of guilt for us to hold! But instead of focusing on yelling, the most important thing is what you do after you lose your cool. Forgive. Repair. Connect. If you worry about being able to keep that 5-1 ratio in balance, or if you're just really tired of the yelling, check out my free workshop "3 Mistakes Parents Make When Trying to Get Their Kids to Listen" Inside you'll learn the three things parents can do differently to get their kids to listen without having to yell. These three mistakes are mistakes that almost every single parent I work with has made at one time or another...including myself! Come learn what they are, how you may be doing them, and what to do instead. It's free and packed full of tips that help! https://messymotherhood.com/3-mistakes

#Repost @teenhealthdoc with @make_repost Hi! I'm Dr. Hina here to share tween, teen and young adult health tips. Follow @teenhealthdoc for more. What to ...say to an anxious child? Teamed up with my friends at @mamapsychologists today to bring you these prompts. I know many of you have younger kids and tweens in your lives, this one is for you. It's been a really rough year. Before this year up to 1 in 5 teens faced anxiety disorders & anxiety disorders are the most common mental health condition in children & teens. Mental health is health, period; and with something so common your family is not alone. The American Academy of Pediatricians recognizes this and is strongly encouraging primary care teams to improve access to mental health care either by starting to do this work themselves or co-locate social workers, therapists and psychiatrists in pediatrician offices. This is something to look for if you are in the market for a new primary care doc or adolescent medicine team. As I've said in the past anxiety can be normal and even developmental in kids. And a little reassurance can go a long way. But the key with anxiety is 1. to help kids face the discomfort or worry and not work around it. 2. to model coping mechanisms and thought changes yourself and to check your own anxiety Hope this was helpful! Please double tap, share and save , which helps make sure instagram will actually show you my future posts. I am curious what works well in your family to bring down the family anxiety? . #untigering #unschooling #PeacefulParenting #GentleParenting #ConsciousParenting #DecolonizingParenting #AsianParenting #AsianAmerican
