In sessions I speak about walking in a forest and stumbling upon a saber-toothed tiger, or always on alert knowing there is one near by. This is where mental health struggles like anxiety and depression can begin, as our body does a great job of protecting us but it is only meant to be in fight/flight/freeze for a short period of time.
