Help a Schoolie

An excerpt from a FB group that Maplewood has been a part of- so much of this is true... Thanks to everyone who lobbied, wrote letters, spoke to media and government, worked on opening protocol, and to those at EC and OE who worked so hard behind the scenes. There is still much to be done. So many are so far behind financially, and it will be a slow and careful (and expensive) return to normal. We still don't know what will happen with summer camps and show season. Some hor...ses are ready to go, and many will need a slow and gradual return to work. Everyone will be working longer hours for less revenue. Please continue to support and promote the For the Herd campaign. Today was such an incredible first step. We need to be in a position to manage any future waves and shutdowns. We need to help everyone to get back on track. And we need to continue to share ideas and information as we all navigate so many changes in our industry. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this group. The support in all directions has been essential. One day at a time.

Without lessons running, riding schools across the province are struggling to cover the costs associated with the proper care and maintenance associated with the care and maintenance that the school horses need.
