We had the great pleasure of distributing many of the donations we’ve received at Midtown Mall yesterday thanks to the help from all of you. We truly couldn’t have done it without you. We will be doing a second trip out there today to distribute a larger load. Our goal is to get out there a couple times a week so again, we are asking for your help. We are still collecting donations and are in need of women’s and men’s winter boots, jackets, mitts, hats, blankets, sleeping bags and more. Over this past weekend, we were able to distribute the items we have collected over the past month, as well as homemade sandwiches, to the homeless. It was such a heart warming filled day and the people of Durham were so thankful and appreciative for the kind act of service. Our goal is to continue handing out items collected on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. We are still seeking donations so if you are moving, downsizing, or just have some things you would like to donate, please let us know. We are in desperate need of mittens, joggers, blankets, sleeping bags, and under garments but everything helps. Thank you all in advance for your generous donations. Helping Hands Movers is looking for your help! We are gratefully seeking donations to help the homeless within our region, a cause that plays dear to our hearts.... Growing up, when times were tough, my family received donations from the community and we couldn’t have been more grateful. The thought of a complete stranger wanting to help completely filled our hearts. Those strangers act of kindness has really touched me and now, I want to give back. I want to be able to give back what was so generously given to me and my family. We are getting into the chillier months and I would love to be able to provide some warmth to those in need. Our goal is to get as much care packages together as we can to be able to deliver them to the homeless by mid November. We are looking for hats, mittens, jackets, boots, blankets, sleeping bags, personal hygiene products, warm clothing, non-perishable food items, anything you’d be willing to part with.
