Help Me Settle

Help Me Settle helps foster a sense of belonging for international students who may feel ‘lost’ when coming to and settling in Toronto. Help Me Settle does this by: helping students find housing prior to their arrival; finding employment, internships and /or volunteer work experience in a field related to their areas of interest; providing legal services for students looking to extend their visa, apply for permanent residence, or have family members join them; and, by connecting newcomers with Canadian students who, together, participate in activities like bowling, rock climbing, photography, volleyball and such. Working together, we ensure that the support international student received from agents, family members and teachers, does not end when they land in Toronto but continues throughout their international studies.

How to prepare for the IELTS Exam: 1. Get access to IELTS preparation material. Practice the questions on practice tests and understand the material you are studying. Here's a useful link that has a lot of practice material: https://www.ieltsessentials.com/global/prepare 2. Make a study schedule. Everyone is busy with other things such as work, school, family, etc. Try to make a schedule that works with your routine. Try to study the material at least for an hour each day.... 3. Sign up for an IELTS preparation course if you believe it would help you learn the material effectively. Studying in a group can prevent you from procrastinating and gives you an opportunity to learn new information that you may have not learned before. 5. Book an IELTS exam centre. Remember to book your exam in advance as slots tend to fill up quickly! *Remember to take breaks in between studying and try not to stress, give yourself credit for studying hard and giving it your best*
